What are the coaches seeing in Chiarot and Petry?

They had more ice-time than Seider and Edvinsson. How.. Just how?

Are they seeing different stats than us, are these proffesional coaches seeing something different than my un-trained eyes?

Am i going insane?

I did not see the game tonight so take this with a grain of salt. I generally think Chiarot is not as bad as people make him out to be here. Ideally he should not be playing with Petry and should be the #4 guy.

That being said I have no explanation of why in the world Jeff Petry should be leading the defense in ice time, no matter what happened in a game. And Chiarot should only be close to that if he's on the PK a ton, which he wasn't.

I'm frankly stunned. Petry led in TOI?! Is it because the game was out of reach and he wanted to rest Ed and Seider??

I agree that Chiarot has been fine, especially last season. Petry has been abysmal this season, his passing is always too slow, causing turnovers and he can't clear to save his life sometimes. Resulting in the team getting absolutely bogged down.

They're both well below 40CF%, which is just not okay at this level.

I really don't like being in negative town but the constant never being awake at the start of games comes back to Lalonde and his staff. Do they motivate or inspire the players at all?
Well, when the coach repeated last year that "we were not supposed to be there" or that the other team's stars are "in a different league"... kinda hard to be motivated when the coach seems like he'd rather be coaching a top team instead and makes it clear you're not good enough for him.

No break out. No D zone coverage. No urgency. No passing ability. No net front presence. Did they even get an offensive rebound all game long? They rarely have a guy in front of the opposition net. This stuff is all basic. It's so frustrating.

Petry's gaff killed all momentum.

At least DCat's wasn't a post tonight.

The officiating in that series was quite literally the worst officiating I've seen ever.
I felt 09 had two horrendously officiated series, the Anaheim series, where the Ducks were given all the leeway they wanted to goon that series up with no reprocussions and then of course the final against Pitt was two fold, the officials and the league office conspiring against the Wings.

I was at the game and Jeff Petry was f***ing hurrendous tonight. Holl not far behind. Hill gets knocked off the puck like he’s 5’5”

All this very true, wings were 1 and done on any o-zone stuff, d-zone left guys wide ass open all night, and they can’t break a puck out to save their lives. Really bad hockey team Steve has built

I hope Petry and Chiarot get roasted for that goal to start the third. What should of been a simple play and those two buffoons did everything they could to help put that in the net. Completely killed the team and they all gave up in the third.

Hate everything pretty much about this game and the signs continue to point that a lot of turnover of the roster and org in a lot of areas is required.
Literally god awful. Lyon was god awful as well.

Well that was fun!

On the plus side, Jeff Petry is becoming a real minute muncher!

Like the other night, happy with 1 pt because we played 2 of the best players in the game against the Oilers.
