If coaching refuses to make any changes to the PP / PK, they should look at a change to the guys running it. Maybe GG has met his expiration date, and Stuart just caught lightning in a bottle for a year. Who knows?
PP is a microcosm of our offensive zone play for the past few years and the league has finally figured it out. Park the bus and let the Oilers play with the puck around the perimeter as they are unable to ever generate any quality scoring chances from the middle of the ice.

We lead the league in offensive zone time but I'd guess our high danger scoring chances are miniscule. We are perimeter petes that float muffins at the goalie every once in a while.

Yup, they need to score more goals. This is one of the biggest issues with the team this year, a pathetic shooting %.

However, Skinner is right up there as one of the other biggest issues. He's a putrid mess of a goalie more often than not.
The more I watch the two of them, the more I conclude that there isn't a big talent discrepancy between them.

What's the record for worst special teams in NHL history?

Because this team's PP and PK combined percentage is going to beat it. This ain't a playoff team, folks. McDavid shouldn't rush back... no point.

Pk is a lot of new personnel. Said this was something to watch all off season, but you know ceci sucks so how hard is he and others to replace

Sure, but most of these guys know how to PK from before. Even with personnel changes it shouldn't be at the absolute bottom of the league. They're not new to hockey. Something else is amiss, it's not Cody Ceci who is continuing to suck on the Sharks,

That was the concern. That third line crashing back down to Earth. There are too many decent forwards for this roster to have so many zeroes on it.
On paper.
Hyman looks like he has reverted to his Leafs self. Works hard, trys hard but is streaky and is a 40-50point guy.
Nuge looks like he does every few years where his game goes to absolute shit.
Janmark has done this before. He was waived by us not even 2 years ago.
Brown is Brown.
Ryan is 70, so is Perry.
Henrique is being dragged into the mud.
We have a lot of forwards that can be good but only 2 sure things and no guys on the roster with “potentiall

Islands in the stream.
Skinner is hilarious in net. That was one of the more pathetic attempts I have ever seen an NHL goalie make. His movements are glacial and then he just....falls. f*** me, this guy sucks.
Once you see how much this guy sucks theres just no going back. Almost anything has been an adventure tonight. Just watch him getting up at a whistle. Gingerly picks himself slowly off the ice. I'm 63 and its how I get up on a bad day with Arthritis. What an athlete this guy is. pfffft

That 3rd goal and 4th goal. OMFG. Flips around like a beached whale. "It worked once".

Playoff performances can be such outliers for role player types.

Whereas young players showing promise in the playoffs can lead to Draisaitl like trajectories.

Probably should have prioritized Holloway and Broberg.
