Looks like the City of Tempe is planning to hold a referendum on the new arena and surrounding area in 2023. That's a big step in the process. Then there will be multiple lawsuits, most notably from the airport and the City of Phoenix over past agreements (new arena is in the flight path) and then there's a question whether the owner has the money to pull this off (questionable) Still a long ways away.
