I am aware of this. But the other poster made sound as if Russia would be destined to play in the relegation round if it loses the next two.

I wasn't saying they were destined to, but in a three way tie where every team has beaten one of the other tied teams, there is a decent chance (minimum 1/3) that Russia would be playing for relegation.
