Thomas is injured. So hes not even in the equation right now, would have expected that to be understood by me stating "no top 9 level centers". So currently Kyrou and Buch are currently the only top 6 forwards we have.

Saad, Neighbours, and Schenn are fine as 2nd line complimentary pieces, but they need a top 6 player to compliment or a player that they can play off of, mainly due to their playstyles a passer. None of Saad, Schenn, or Neighbours is a passer. And our best passer is out injured.
Okay, I agree with most of this but it makes no sense to say those guys are fine in the top 6 as long as they have a center but then say the Blues dont only have 2 top 6 forwards

lets drill down to the real issue - its the centers that are the problem

This team is just void of high end talent, especially with Thomas out. A coach can only do so much with a lackluster roster. I think this is a good thing to get spanked a game or two as a good reality check. Sure we "fixed" our 3rd and 4th lines, but without two solid top lines it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. We absolutely needed a top 10 pick last year, and need another one this year if we're gonna attempt the quick 3-4 year re-tool as opposed to the 6-7 year re-build. We need a few game changers. Hard to trade for those guys.

Good coaches find a way to win even with less talent. Bannister is not a good coach.

I think we are not too far away. Dvorsky needs to land as a 2C, and find a way to trade for a legit top 2dman. Which, Army has managed to find before. I think it was heavily implied thay Steen did a lot of the legwork on Broberg and Holloway. I wouldn't put it past them to make a move to contend in 2 years.

I really hate to be that guy this early in the season but it is apparent to me that Bannister was not the correct choice. This team does not need a player's coach they need a taskmaster, someone in the same lane of a Ken Hitchcock.
I agree.

As others have said I don’t think it’s entirely on him though. I also don’t think he’s a bad coach and he could become a good NHL coach, but for now he’s just the guy we need.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Davis Payne like situation if the Blues can’t start putting things together a bit more, and see Claude Julien take the reins.

While certainly the organization has recognized that they’ve been retooling and it’s not a Stanley Cup or bust type season, I would expect Armstrong is looking for more consistency out of the roster he’s assembled than what we’ve been seeing.
