Game 1 playoff lineup

What do you think the lineup will be for game 1 against Ottawa or Washington? Here's my guess:

Tuukka Rask in goal of course

Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - David Backes
David Pastrnak - David Krejci - Drew Stafford
Ryan Spooner - Frank Vatrano - Jimmy Hayes
Tim Schaller - Riley Nash - Dominic Moore

Does Noel Acciari play in lieu of Schaller if he is fit?
I think Stafford has shown well; good trade deadline pick-up.

On D, a lot depends if Carlo and Krug are able to play. Assuming yes:

Zdeno Chara - Brandon Carlo
Torey Krug - Adam McQuaid
Colin Miller - Kelvan Miller

If one is out, John Michael Liles steps in.
If both Carlo and Krug are out, does Joe Morrow get called up?

What are your thoughts on the game 1 playoff lineup?

That is exactly the lineup I would put out. This is the group that we have the most success with. The third line is comprised of struggling players, but they tend to play greater than the sum of their parts. For whatever reason, the team seems to win when they are together.

I doubt Krug makes game 1. Carlo seems like the warrior type that would play with a fractured skull so I would be surprised if he isn't in the game. Depend who we are playing, but in an away game against either of the two clubs, I would go with a heavy lineup in Game 1. McQuaid, Miller, Miller, Chara, and Carlo can punish their forwards. Backes, Beleskey, Schaller, Acciari can punish their D-men. I would also emphasize that our big D-men lead the dump and chase when possible to help punish their D.

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Pastrnak - Krejci - Beleskey
Stafford - Spooner - Moore
Schaller - Nash - Acciari

Chara - Carlo
Liles - McQuaid
Miller - Miller

I'm going on the assumption (and given it's hush-hush season when it comes to NHL injuries), that:

Krug won't be ready for Game 1

Carlo is likely done for a week at minimum

Morrow has played so little the last 4 months they wont' even consider using him.

A D-man will be called up from Providence

With both Krug and Carlo possibly out (lord help us) any chance we see McAvoy?

Not loving the idea of his firsts NHL exposure being vs. the Caps in the playoffs, but would still be fun to see.

McAvoy could get called up. How about Tommy Cross, Alex Grant or Matt Grzelcyk?

I have little confidence in this team without Krug. He and Marchand are the two players who are most crucial to our attack, and it's showed the past couple of games.

Joe Morrow is the best option to be able to skate and break down the Sens trap and is the best combination of size, speed, quickness to play against Washington.

JM Liles will be retiring as soon as the Bruins are out ---he's cooked and won't be able to help us.

Morrow is a wild card at this point. His confidence is likely shot (personality doesn't seem like it but it could be) and he looks bad when he comes in because he is so far behind game speed after sitting out so much *BUT* if he gets some real minutes and confidence then he has the skill package to be a wildcard.

Spreading out the offense is idiotic at this point, it just doesn't work.

I never want to see Beleskey or Hayes in the spoked B again, if there's more injuries call up a kid.

I'm not even going to attempt the defense at this point.

Without an experienced mobile D-man (Krug) AND a #2 D-man to compliment Chara (in Carlo), I am not sure how we will ever get the puck out of our own zone.

I say that as one of those "anything can happen if you make the playoffs" type fans.

If we face the Caps, and win in the first round, Bruce Cassidy deserves a $10 million bonus.

I agree with this. Put Morrow with K. Miller and see what he can do. I've seen him play very well at times this year.

If we get the Caps first round I'd be bringing up Randell. We're not beating the Caps regardless but I hate watching other teams take liberties with our baby**** soft team.

We need speed on our dee. Morrow has not played in so long, it would take too long for him to get his game legs back. Call up Cross and Gryz and decide between one of them.

Call me crazy but I want to see Hayes in the lineup. He does absolutely nothing, but the team does seem to win when he plays...put him in for luck, cause sure as hell we are going to need it vs. the Caps...and the Sens for that matter.

Bruins were #1 in the league under Cassidy for goals scored with this spread out offense that "doesn't work".

i think the ship has sailed with morrow. the coaching change didn't make a difference either - cassidy hasn't shown any interest to play him. i wonder if there's a split within the staff about the guy. maybe sweeney likes him more than the coaches. i'd be surprised if he plays in the playoffs, even with the injuries...but i guess anything can happen at this point. also assume he won't be back next year.

So Nugs, who is the most logical LHDs to play after Z?

Z-Chiller
X-Killer
X-McQ

Liles, Grizz, O'Gara all over Morrow?

i know people don't want to see Belesky and I'm on that board too but I think you have to play him to see what he brings in the playoffs. It's a big reason why we signed him. Let's see what he got then when we're done we figure out what to do with him. Btw any word on Chelarik? A lot depends on who we play but I'd go

Marchand Bergeron Spooner (especially if we play sens)
Chelarik Krecji Pasta
Belesky Backes stafford
Moore Nash Accari/schaller/ Hayes

Spooner will get killed at centre come PO

i assume liles is clearly the favorite since he was even ahead of colin miller down the stretch. the third spot i would think is a toss-up, with o'gara, cross, morrow and grizzy (longer shot) all possible options. also figure they would go conservative and put k-miller with Z. maybe:

Z-kevan
liles-mcquaid
o'gara-chiller

dunno. it's certainly not an ideal situation.
