It's great to have Kessel but it would have been nice to have a number one center in place before we made a move like that. In the next draft, the Coyotes need to do whatever it takes to get that true #1. Even if it means making a big trade to move up in the draft order. Our best players are getting older and will not be around forever so they need to pull out all the stops and get this done.

You can trade for an an up and coming 1C with draft picks. You can trade for an RFA with draft picks. You just have to be willing to pay the price in a 3 year drop off in elite talent from the draft. When we are right there, it becomes worth it. Bring in Capo, Hayton and Soda, and please, some secondary scoring, and we might be right there, just needing the 1C as the final piece. So maybe the upcoming off season will be a real earth shaker.
