My (not so) bold prediction: Skarek starts the game for the Czechs and lets in two peewee-level goals, gets pulled just to never the ice again.

Let's give Skarek a chance. Third time's the charm? If he finds his form from the 2016 Ivan Hlinka tournament, then a medal could be within reach. Our defense will certainly give him plenty of opportunity to showcase his talent:laugh:

the switz seem to be a better then average team they usally bring this year. could maybe upset a qf game

We seem to have better depth this year than other in years but are on the other hand lacking a true game changer like Hischier, Meier or Fiala who can put the team on his back in key moments. The Czechs on the other hand have players like that in Zadina, Necas and Kaut but are apparently lacking depth. Still, i think their star players will make the difference on the power play. So I predict a 4-2 win for the Czechs but obviously hope for the upset.

The Czech's are only lacking depth on D. Up front, they have Lauko, Pekar, Kondelik, Jenik, etc. They'll be just fine.

Ok then, I am not super familiar with some of the lesser known prospects. In that case the Czechs might actually do some real damage in this tournament...

I dislike games against the Swiss because they are usually very tight, not necessarily that entertaining too, but I am very much looking forward to seeing Zadina, Nečas, Kaut and Lauko after a year at the WJC again.

May the better wins tonight, heh

Didn't expect Dostal in the net, but why not - he is more than solid goalie. Maybe all three goalies will get the opportunity to show up during the group stage?

What surprises me as well, is that Zadina is not going to play with Nečas, at least from the start. I liked the chemistry between them last year. I don't say this is a bad choice, we will see during the game. But it surprises me.

Dostál in net, Nečas with Kaut on the 1st line

Seems like I won't be able to stay up till Fin-Swe game so this one has to do. Cheering for the underdog so hoping to see Swiss take it.
