If we can sweep these two, we'll be right in the mix at the trade deadline.
Now from the Evans poll, we figured out that were about a 35% sign and 65% trade Evans but ill put up a new option.

Lets say we do get more 2nd round + picks for Evans. How do people feel about keeping him around to try and make the playoffs without depleting Laval and risk losing him in the summer. He ends up being our rental and doesnt deflate all the positive vibes that Suzuki and co are trying to keep going.

Just wondering do we need another poll? :dunno:
The last one came back roughly 60/40 in favor of moving him.
Not to mention there is an entire thread dedicated to the topic.

Poor Sabres fans another L incoming.

All of the noise around the Habs - Basu, Engels, Lebrun, Friedman say that the Front Office has not changed their plans because of the 3 game winning streak out of the break.

They were 6 points out and after winning 3 games, they are 5 points out.

They’re still 5 points back, they have to count on about 6 other teams going on losing streaks, plus, after Buffalo, it’s Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver. They aren’t going to be in the mix.

3 wins in a row already and the Habs will never win 4 in a row with Matheson on the team. So programmed loses Saturday.

The question to me is not about making the playoffs, but how much do the Habs value in trying to stay on the mix as opposed to tanking their season down the stretch completely.

We can’t bury the playoff hopes just yet…There’s 2 teams 5 points ahead and both are prone to L streak. Also we have to talk about remaining schedule strength…

Detroit #1 .590
NYR #2 .573
CBJ #4 .565

MTL #26 .537
OTT #32 .526

This is a significant gap especially with Detroit.

I’m not overly optimistic but a push would be cool. Unless we can get a 1st rounder I’m keeping Evan’s, a late 2nd does nothing for us. The 2nd isn’t worth alienating Suzuki and Caufield.

The management team gave them the opportunity to get in the mix and not be in seller mode and they went 1-6-1 in the last stretch.. and let's be honest, they didn't play an inspiring game last night.

They aren't gonna be alienated because they failed when it was their chance to push them further, they'll remain hungry to change it.
