Going off what Dallas fans have said it seems to be by design. Hopefully our forwards can adjust to the goofy idea that you don't need to have any structure as long as the puck exits the zone and figuring it out on the fly.

Yeah it's the strategy the Pens used whe they won their cups under Sullivan. Not sure our forwards have the speed for it.

Refs took this game over. Clear interference ignored on the second goal. Horrific non call on the hit from behind leads to the next goal. Simple as that.

So if Marner got pasted into the boards in the third like Sandin did to Perfetti, I understand Leaf ans are fine with no penalty being called. On the fickle board apparently Dubois is the "piece of ****" for going after Sandin.
