What a day! Pissing it down here in London, the season's first Jets game means a glorious blank slate, and @macmaroon and his Merry Band of Memers already in mid-season form!

Okay youse Jets -- let's do this early! Time to flip them switches and memorize them good ol' hockey Sawyerisms for this bright new dawn!!!

Gotta get back to basics this year. Hopefully the new coach has them all in the right state of mind now. Rags are a damn good team so this is a test right off the bat. We know we can put pucks in the net, now the true question becomes has our team defence improved? We'll find out pretty quick.

I'm still expecting an adjustment period. It takes a while to unlearn the bad habits that were ingrained and replace them with better ones. I think by the 1/4 point we will have a pretty good indication of what the team is.

Yeah I agree but we'll see if we are trending in the right direction though. Bowness should already have his early mark on this team. We'll see how he distributes the shifts and who the go to guys become in all situations early on.

Will be on the road, listening to CJOB tonight. Keep the shift lengths to 45 seconds, boys. Avoid 55 second shifts, 55. It's 100% on the backcheck - we go as fast coming back as we do when we have the puck on offense.

I am pretty sure Bones doesn't have about a half dozen guys that he just doesn't bother to coach!
