Hopefully the Jets lock him up long term. Chevy is great at coming up with fair contracts that work for everyone (team and player) for guys that want to be here

That said, his social media influencer GF from SoCal will probably get a say on whether or not they stay in Winnipeg

If he won't sign, expect Chevy to work his magic a la PLD trade

Around 7.5-8.5 per year, I’m okay with 8 years. He took off in Winnipeg with 1st line usage, and the team really believes in him. I think Gabe fits really well and it would be a damn shame if he didn’t stay. As above, I think his girlfriend would be the only reason to not stay long term.

No, she's been involved in WAG events across the city and seems to be friends with some of the other WAGs on the team. She is from Orange County though so the weather is always a potential factor.

Yes, but it would be tricky if Vilardi left on offer-sheet at the same time Ehlers left via UFA.
I like Lambert and Chibrikov but I don't think they could fill those shoes very well.

I love him on the Jets, but I see him getting paid more money by another team. I also think his girlfriend wants him in a warmer climate, could see him with the Sharks or Blackhawks because he would look good next to Bedard/Celebrini.

I mean, I think 8 x $7M AAV is do-able on Winnipeg's end.
