Would love to see Faber get a few games rest. Think he needs it the most.

Brazeau is decent behind the net, and he did make a nice pass to Hartman that drew the penalty early. But still such an underwhelming player overall
Yeah, he looks off, specifically in his decision making, normally a strong point. Hopefully Hynes can see what we do, but knowing him he will continue to play him 25 minutes/night.

Need to give Brazeau ~30-40 games to get comfortable, or so I've heard.
His reach is pretty long and that can be helpful in clogging lanes in the postseason. However, his skating and decision making are not so great. Interesting player despite the over the top criticism.

He really was bad, and is completely unreliable. Unfortunately Wallstedt has been bad too, and also had a stinker last night. That Czech guy Hlavak (sp) seems to be playing well though
The defense was garbage last night for sure, but he's got to stop one or two of those 7.

3 of the 4 goals scored against Wallstedt were on the PP. Hlavaj has been better this year, though.

- That game last night was great for the offense, even though it was against a bad team.
- MAF had a lot of time off, so i expected something like what we got. If memory serves, he also let in two weak goals last time out. If we need him for the playoffs, we are screwed.
- Brazeau gives us nothing. No offense, no speed, no physicality, little defense. I have this feeling that Hynes is playing him due to pressure from Guerin, who is trying to justify the trade for him. Hinnestroza isn't great, but at least chips in a bit on offense, and is faster. Ohgren is better, too, though I can see the argument that he it is better for his development to be playing top minutes and developing his offense in the AHL (which he is doing). We'll be seeing Ohgren once the AHL regular season is over, so hopefully he will play over Brazeau then.
- If we get Middleton back, this is the healthiest this team has ever been going into the playoffs. If we beat Calgary, Hynes can take the opportunity to cut back on Spurgeon, Brodin, and Faber's minutes, and maybe a forward or two who is banged up or tired(Zucc, Foligno?). It's interesting to see how good Ek is when he is rested and healthy. The time off has been a blessing in disguise for him.

I don't think you can rest guys until you wrap up the 7th spot. VGK sounds sound like a better match-up than the Jets for the Wild imo. They won't have a clear picture of that until after the VAN game. So maybe 1 throwaway game to end the season? The Playoffs don't start until the 19th/20th, so sitting/resting players the last game would put them at a week without a game.

I don't know what the cap space limitations are for calling anyone up. Ohgren probably deserves a callup if there is an open spot due to his recent AHL play. If/when Zeev signs he'll be on the NHL roster the rest of the season.

I see Jets/Knights as a toss up. I’d rather Faber get some rest than try to maneuver towards a perceived easier matchup. If we stand a chance against either team, he’s going to need to have some jump.

I'ts nothing but a miracle to actually win a game when your goalie puts on a performance like this.
My face is sore of all the facepalming I did watching him flopping all over the ice.
A soap in a bathtub has nothing on Flower.
Retire today, please.

We always end up injured and embarrassed against the jets and this matchup would be no different. Helle would have a 1.25gaa against us in 4 games and look like a hall of famer.

I think the Jets match-up has a greater chance of their goalie turning into a brick wall.

Not if he doesn’t win a cup

Doesn't matter if he gets a Cup or not, probably wins his third Vezina this year, he's already done more than Luongo and Lundqvist combined. He's a hall of famer.

Oh, for sure. I'm not sure that VGK will be a better matchup than the Jets, though. The Jets have the better goalie, but Eichel is the best player on either team, and the jets have a history of choking in the playoffs, while VGK have a history of doing well.

I don't have high expectations for Ohgren for this year, but being better than Brazeau is a low bar. Ohgren is faster, plays a reasonably sound game, and I do think that there is potential for some offense from him. Also, getting him playoff experience could pay off down the road, and give him added incentive to improve this summer, and be Rossi V2 in 25-26.

Scheifele is no slouch either, so the seperation isn't much imo. TBH Stone scares me more than Eichel for VGK. That dude just seems to own the Wild.

I'll take the team's chances with Hill in net over the guy who will win the Veznia (again) this year.
