Man the jets are gonna embarrass us bad in rd 1 and the Minnesota curse dictates Kap will be injured game 1 and play through some shit that keeps him useless for the rest of the series

There is no damn curse. The Wild getting embarrassed in round 1 will be due to the same s#@$y special teams that we've been dealing with for years. That's not a curse. That's horrible coaching.

Keep telling me there is no curse while I watch all 4 major sports teams suffer the most improbable idiocies possible year after year.

Spurgeon and Brodin threw this game. Boldy put the final nail in the coffin.

Don’t recall Rossi doing anything all game.
Gus was pretty weak in this one, too. It happens. Spurgeon’s gap on the Hischier shot was horrible.

Zucc was awful, and Boldy was just terrible. As you said, Rossi had his normal passive disappearing act.

4th line and Foligno / Hartman were the only Fs with jump.

Nyquist is just not very good anymore. He’s lost a step, and he’s not quite skilled enough to be effective in a Zuccarello-esque manner

Nyquist is probably an 80pt player if Kap was carrying him around

Well at least they are making the playoffs in your negative scenario. You have been saying for awhile they would miss the playoffs

Honestly we could be 4pts up on Vancouver if they win tomorrow with 8 games remaining. Who do you choose to make it in that scenario?

Was kind of humiliating to see our guys struggle to even maintain possession or gain the zone on the PP and then the Devils proceed to score against us on a beautiful PP with crisp puck movement and spacing. Like us, they are missing their clear best player so that’s not even an excuse

There is no greater GM failure than performing poorly while trying to be good.

I may be in the minority here but I don’t mind being bad with purpose.

I thought GMBG was a genius when they announced the Parise/Suter buy-outs. He effectively had a free pass to reconstruct the roster however he saw fit…. It grieves me watching the core of his assembly. Old, slow, weak & lacking entertainment value.

This is the part that sticks with me. His first couple years here he said we were going to get faster, younger, better. I don't think we got any of those yet.

Gus wasn't great, but I'll give him a break because his wife had a baby on Wednesday. His brain is probably fried.

As for Hynes "addressing" the problems.....I very much have my doubts.

Oh great, another kid that may have caused a down year for him last year. Right before the playoffs, sounds about right

Hynes adressing the problem: They're trying to fix the PP & PK issue all year but they haven't succeeded so far.

Adressing the Problem basically means burying Rossi onto the 3rd or 4th line to send a message. Rossi hasn't been great the past 10 games but it's always him when a problem gets addressed.

Prepare to be hammered

The 5th best team in the league wins barely 60% of their games. We're 5-4-1 in our last 10 and 11-11-1 since 1/29 with wins over Toronto, LA, Washington, Colorado and Carolina. Stay calm, people.

Counterpoint. This team has never won a playoff series under this management team, nvm go on a playoff run like MTL did in 2020, or STL in 2019. I have next to no confidence that we will win a playoff series, and none that we will win two.

For teams like BUF, our record is something to be envied. Not for MN fans, IMO. We should demand more. Having a team that does nothing but lose when it matters is not acceptable in this market.

Success starts better drafting. Imagine Faber over Khusnuts or ROR (so we either still have Fiala somehow or have something else in addition to Faber), Johnston in the 1st round 2021, Knies over Peart. Any combination of those puts in a better spot than signing Trenin puts us in a worse one.

If Guerin is on notice, Brackett certainly should join him.

Quotes from Hynes and Foligno: "It's hard league to win in", "we've got guys in positions that need to understand you gotta be smarter", "we can't make little mistakes", "I didn't think we were focused with the details...that combined with the competitive level that's required to win."

If your team needs to outwork the opponent every night, play mistake free hockey, and the league is still hard to win in when performing those tasks (which they didn't yesterday), your team isn't skilled enough. For what it's worth, that's partly because Kaprizov and JEE are injured, but it's not wholly because of that. It's simply impossible to outwork your opponent 100% of the time. That's not something that's "something amiss" as Hynes put it, it's just being a human instead of a robot. Our bodies have limits.

Underrated was Hartman shooting a the NJ net after Foligno's fight had started, pissing their goalie off, and then he trips the goalie on his way past while celebrating his "goal". lmao
