The team really, really needed to be hyper aggressive back when Makar was a rookie and Nate was severely underpaid. Their insistence on being competitive then and in the future killed what should have been a dynasty.

The Avs are not constructed (nor coached) to play a grinding, hard nose, crowd the opposing goaltender game.

Nor will they when that's the only tactic that is going to work. We've seen this (at a minimum) vs the Jets and the Canucks.

Grinding and lunch pail style hockey does not apply to Wood or Colton because they both are morons.

I suppose Tocchat and Foote heard that Bednar wants the Avs to play playoff like hockey before the break because they prep'd their team to play it too.

I don't miss the 14M he wanted. He was offered the highest winger contract ever, and rejected it. He didn't want to be here.

Not saying we don't need some better shooters, but 96 made his choice. I'd rather want players that want too be here and not the f*** the team with their contract demands.

I didn't like anyone outside of Blackwood, Necas, LOC, Drury and Kelly. Just frustrating to watch these guys right now. Nuke coming back and CMac making the moves for better defensive depth would go a long way to making this team better.

Bednar would never play this style, but I think for the Avs to remain competitive they need to embrace more physicality. They can use lesser skilled guys that basically just go out there and soften up the other team. Right now they're constantly trying to play like the 2022 team with about half the talent. It's not going to work. I don't think Bednar's capable of actually making adjustments (if her were, we win that Vegas series, and there's a decent chance we win that first Dallas series)
