There's no way to actually differentiate high danger chances from normal chances. What I think they've done is look at the average chances of the shot going in from that location of the ice, with probably different odds for even-strength and special teams.

No they actually do have a method for calculating high, medium, and low danger scoring chances on the NaturalStatTrick website. I may disagree with it at times but the method is at least shown.
