Yeah, its just the nature of the business. It broke my heart when we lost Foppa due to the cap, but it happens.
Oh my, dont bring up Foppa, or Footer..... Man, the salary cap really f***ed us over.....

I never really disliked Guenin. He arrived when the team was young and had no identity. They werent cup contenders or anything so it was meh with him and Benoit. I hated Zanon way more than Guenin.
You know what? That 2013/2014 season was a hell of a ride and a lot of fun.. Until the heartbreak in game 7 against the Mild....

That year the whole team played way over their head. Nearly every game was fun to watch and a real spectacle (on both side of the column)... I dont know how many goals we scored that season with the goalie pulled.....

Won the Central with the corps of players like Guenin, Cliche, Benoit, Bordeleau, Sarich, McGinn......

Crazy shit in those days.....

I hate to rain on this, and things turned out for the better, but they tried too hard to compete too early and we went through hell because of it.

These teams these days clearly didn't pay attention. You know who might have actually paid attention? SJ..

More than a friend?

That was an absolutely abysmal defensive effort, but the things I saw on offense were pretty encouraging. Glad it ended the way it did.

That said, nice to finally see something resembling balance with Wood back in the lineup and Parssinen seeing some time in the top six.
Feedback on him seems pretty positive so far? Seems like he's doing well next to Mittlestadt and Lekhonen as a fill-in guy in the top-6

Yeah, he's definitely got the speed and the shot necessary to be a top six forward, remains to be seen if he's got the IQ and other attributes necessary to sustain in that role.

He is also able to hold on to the puck along the boards while skating around which helps opening passing lanes. He can also play physical. If he can keep playing the way Bednar likes he could become a very good long-term option on the 3rd line while being able to fill in on the 2nd when injuries hit.

I mean, yeah, that's a horrid backcheck, but wasn't he also pretty tired by that point? I think he stayed out there the entire power play didn't he?

Yeah, he was out for the full 2 minutes. It looked like he was just trying to take a penalty and bring Lehky down, but 62 wasn't having any of it and just went balls to the wall down the ice.
