Apparently he will be a RFA if he gets just a few more games in this season.

Just needs to reach 80 total NHL games from what I can tell. He’s currently at 74.

Doubt there is room for Heidt, same with crease-clearing DFD that I agree we need.

Kap, JEE, Boldy, Rossi, Yurov, Hartman, Ohgren, Freddy, Foligno, Zucc, Trenin, Marat, Lauko = 13.

Faber, Brodin, Spurgeon, Middleton, Jiricek, Bogosian, Chisholm, Merrill, Buium = 9(!)

Of those 22 guys, I think Chisholm & Merrill are the most likely to be wearing a different jersey next year. Mojo, hopefully, is as good as gone.

Really good problem to have for a franchise that has lacked depth in recent years.

Really a logjam on the back end, very possible Buium and Jiricek force there way in over bogo and chisholm but lots of time to sort that out. All around amazing depth and that is without signing a free agent forward.

Bogosian is strictly a 7th defenseman next season.

I can see a RD playing on an off side. I think that the staff treasures Bogo's size and toughness. He is not perfect, but has been just fine as a 3rd pairing guy on a D group that lacks size and grit.

The only way it makes sense though is if Buium or Jiricek need more AHL time, which is still a real possibility. Beyond that, I only see him getting ice time when there’s injuries.

I do think Chisholm is probably traded this offseason since there’s not much room for him (or really any of our other prospect defensemen).
