George was solid, and yet still 4 goals and still sub .900. I don't blame him for that tonight though. He was good and had some big saves.
Calling him solid is a stretch. The first goal was a bad one, I don't care how much he was screened. The second one was questionable. Third, great direct. No chance. Fourth, again, not his fault.

That's still one softie and a questionable one. We f***ing can't have that.

Tkachuk acknowledging they can’t play a run and gun offensive style with the Avs.

Panthers are at their best when they’re slowing the game down, grinding the forecheck and working the cycle. Too many quick zone exits for the Avs tonight which will be suicide for almost any team against a relatively healthy Avs squad.

On the flip side look at all the goals that the Avs score. Weak goaltending all over the place.

We know that the "Avs game" is 7-4 style of game. Good for the regular season.

Just because the others are shit doesn't excuse us. I'm not expecting a Shesterkin or Hellebuyck level performance here, where the goalies constantly steal games. Just stop the f***ing low danger shots for crying out loud. It's an odd day if we need a goalie to steal us one. But without a full lineup with Landeskog, we can't start every other game one goal down because Georgiev (or Annunen) let's in a goal that is softer than a Spanish soccer player.

Like I said, I don't really care if Georgiev can steal us a game when he's "in the zone", if he allows softies when he's not. We need to establish a standard here, let's stop the soft goals first before talking about goalie preventing high danger ones.

IMO a good way to help our bad goaltenders is not shitting the bed in the first minute like the Avs do all the f***ing time.

I don't know what the f***ing problem is but the first minute is always bad with the other team cycling and putting pressure on the Avs D like they are trailing by 1 goal in a life or death playoff situation.

What happened tonight before the first goal was really bad, the Avs were all over the place and lost possession twice in their zone.

With everyone starting to pick up their game and we’re getting that depth we’ve been waiting for, all this team needs is someone little better than Georgiev in net. We don’t really need someone much better, just need a goalie who can put up at least 900 save percentage consistently and we’ll be golden

Okay...so I wanted to realistically see who might be available to upgrade at goalie. So I went to capwages website. Opened a list of active players. Limitied it by those whose contract end in 2025 and play goalie. Then sorted it by save percentage and I think I found our answer....

I hate everything about capwages website except how they display the team cap info.

It should be Vejmelka. If Utah believes in Ingram then I think he could be available.

I really think this team can make some noise this season. We just need Mitts to start to gel with his linemates, get a goalie, and find a good solid D partner for Malinski.

Required Acquisitions(in order of importance):

1. Goalie

2. LHD to pair with Malinski

3. Maybe a 4C as I’m not sold on Ivan and Kelly shouldn’t be playing C

Factors:

- Better goaltending no matter who’s between the pipes

- Top 6 consistently dominating teams

- Manson finding his game in the playoffs

- 3rd line not being awful defensively when Colton comes back

- PK improving, will likely happen if our goaltending can get better

- Nuke not getting caught

- Landeskog coming back and able to contribute in some fashion

- Health. Health. Health.
