Didn’t realize Leo had 10 shots…

Would like to see mctavish and gauthier show up a bit in game 2

Yeah that’s why I gave him a shoutout, matches the eye test. He was all over it in a visually noticeable way.

On the Oilers side I thought Walman was excellent. It was really the depth players who stepped up big for the Oilers.

McDavid and Bouchard will get rolling as the series goes on but the depth guys were the story.

It's only 1 game, but this is a game where last years goaltending probly lets this one run away. If the OIlers can ride a hot goalie for once...

Easily. This is the exact type of game Skinner lets it get away from them.

We don’t even need exceptional goaltending. Literally above average goaltending and the Oilers likely have a Cup win or two. I think they take it in 2023 and 2024. 2025 the Panthers were too strong overall.

Ducks had a rough opening period, and it may have cost them, but they played well enough afterwards to show they can still push Edmonton. They can still win this series.
Edm stopped playing after the first. I don’t know why. They just started coasting. And that cost them in the second. Both teams had a bad period. lol

It’s like we aren’t even watching the same thing. Absolutely clueless.
The refs? Totally agree. They were brutal.
Refs literally halted play at one point for no reason other than LaCombe being bigger and stronger than Hyman. At least wait until Game 3 before you start moaning about officiating.
sorry the multiple missed obvious calls are inexcusable.

ya, we will def need dostal to go full “no name” goalie for a game or 2 to realistically win the series. If you told me we would hold Mcdavid drai and bouch to 2 points total, I would marked it down as a ducks win. Felt like a missed opportunity for sure.

But at the end of the day I see this series as a learning expierence for the young core(just like I’m sure the oilers young core learned a lot in 2017 from that series).

I’m mostly hoping we just stay competitive every game…. Winning the series would be nice but I still think we’re a little too green, and our defense is still a little too sus, still have some fat/holes in the line up to clean up also.

No tears. I have railed on the officials all year. I am balky we beat Gary’s game managers and the other team. Tough to do.
Well it’s completely false and makes you look like a homer who has no idea what they are talking about just as a heads up

Agreed. This series will be such a good experience for them no matter the outcome.

All these battles and playoff scars are part of becoming a winning team with sustainable success.

Even if you look at the Knights, Avs, and Panthers they all had battle scars and difficult series losses before they became champions.

Playoff hockey is an entirely different animal than regular season.

I don't think the officiating tilted one way or another in this one. The lone, real bad penalty that deserved to be called was Nurse being a meathead, and fittingly it was the only one that hurt either team.

Mcdavid with a horrendous effort, Draisatls effort made gwg possible
Dickinson 2 and kapanen 2, a bet on that made someone a millionaire, even if it was just a buck bet

Cool story bro. The issue is across the league. Not just my team. I hold the refs to a higher standard than you do, which is basic consistency to the rule book. I think it’s one of the biggest issues the nhl game faces today. The ever changing standard is painful to watch.
