I haven’t kept up with the nhl this season but I plan on watching the playoffs and will be rooting for the blues just like in 2019. But I have one question…

Is Binnington not the starter anymore? Why is he being listed behind the other name

I would also add, try to get the Wild players in the box. Wild are likely the better 5-on-5 team regardless, particularly when they can dictate matchups at home. If there is one place the Blues do have a decided advantage it is special teams. Remaining disciplined is going to be something the Wild have to focus on throughout the series.

That hurts a ton.

Scandella takes a ton of grief and I'd have liked to have moved him in a deal for a better shutdown D. But we didn't and we don't really have an internal replacement for his job. At worst, he is the 3rd best D on the roster at defending when the other team has the puck. I think he is the 2nd best at that. Losing that is a blow for a blue line that isn't very good at defending when the other team has the puck.

Mikkola needs to get his A game back immediately.

Well Scandella has played better lately but he's still not important enough to put in there if he's not healthy. We should manage to do okay without him. No reason to rush him, and he should be back for game 2 or 3.

That does look much better!

Though the obvious problem with that solution is that we'd have to move somebody else UP. I'd almost rather play with 5 D (hyperbole, obviously) than rely on Mikkola to play 13-minutes of mistake-free hockey. Scandella is at least a savvy vet, facing his former team...in limited minutes he's the least of the team's worries. But unless you're willing to ride Krug & Leddy each a hard 25-minutes every night, you're going to need 12-15 minutes of solid play from your third pair...and Mikkola-Bortuzzo is a sure bet to be targeted by Minnesota tonight.

I assumed that would happen after he didn't play in the last game between the clubs. Evason playing his wild-card as a reason for the Wild to be hopeful of their chances after losing to the Blues yet again last game.
