And from a development point of view, his season this year where he was finally healthy and getting the net was solid. Will he be that guy? I don't know, but I thought his Allsvenskan season and playoff was certainly a case for this deal. Getting a guy right after surgery that needs reps is part of this - and we know goalies take a long-assed time. Will it work? Maybe. Better to finally have options I suppose.

He was good in Hockeyallsvenskan (Tier 2) so SHL-teams are def. interested.

Levi shouldn’t be in Buffalo next year, and there’s no reason to believe Reimer would clear waivers this time around.

And Leinonen is better off getting the bulk of starts on a good SHL team than being a #2 in Rochester.

I doubt Reimer is going to be their vet in Rochester next year. Similarly, Jax probably would want one of Vernon or Close back based on their seasons. I could see Leinonen staying in Sweden or even swinging back to the Liiga.

Let Levi go through the AHL playoffs and see where he stands. His later stints in Buffalo have been poor.

If UPL is going to struggle into next season you may have to sign a 1B keeper for 1-2 years, thats not Reimer or any of the kids.
