Well Mora came back from down 2-0 to take a 3-2 lead... and AIK tie it with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd. :(

So he's had four starts since his nice run, all giving up 3 goals. Hopefully I can catch him if he's playing for Mora tomorrow. Or I may just say f it and work.

Circling back to this... he wound up replacing Lampinen and took the lose, again in OT. 13 saves on 15 shots in 26:01, Mora now sits on the brink of elimination.

Annnnnd scene:

Leinonen's season ends with another 1-goal loss in game 4 to Djurgardens today, 2-1. He ends the playoffs with a 2.17 GAA and .929 save%.

So does the get his ELC this summer or do they wait another year

That's the big question. Ratzlaff is already signed. I would think that has a chance to make the team push that signing a year, but then there is Leenders coming after. *shrug*

Let's say they do sign Leinonen. Would they be comfortable running with two AHL rookies in net? My hunch is they'd probably still want one vet and then have one of the prospects go down to the ECHL. Probably the best approach too. Then the following year maybe you roll with Ratzlaff/Leinonen in Rochester and Leenders in the E.

They would split them up. I still think Leinonen could stay in Allsvenskan on a loan to keep getting a net in a decent league. They could also Coast one of them.

I see Mora's other Finnish goalie Lampinen is rumored to be going to Skelleftea. I wonder if Leinonen is still in Mora's plan for next year - they split 1a/1b duty evenly with 25 games each.

Bakes seems to "imply" he may be coming over and could be him and Ratzlaff in Roch/Jac in the system next year.

I guess it's official, 3yr ELC starting in 25-26. He's been playing well lately, I'm glad this seems to be working out at least better than it was at first. He's still no Lane Hutson.

IMO, there is, at best, one spot in Rochester for a rookie goaltender next year. It's very possible (perhaps ideal even) that there are NO rookie goaltenders in Rochester; Levi starts and a veteran like Houser is the #2, and then Ratzlaff is in Jacksonville getting the bulk of starts.

Interesting that they signed Leinonen now. My guess at this juncture is that he stays in Europe one more season.
