Pavel Buchnevich
"Pavel Buchnevich The Fake"
I think he's the best of the three goalies for the 17's. Boettiger came in with a lot more hype and Slavick was an unknown like Quinlan, but Quinlan has outplayed the other two statistically and has the most potential.
He's smaller at only 6'0, so you hope he can grow an inch or two before the 2025 draft, but the tools are there otherwise. Very explosive and can make difficult saves, not bad positionally, and good hockey sense. He's quick to recognize where the puck is going. I think he's a little worse than someone like Trey Augustine at the same age and comparable to Dylan Silverstein (was talked about as a 3rd or 4th rounder until injuries derailed his career). That seems like what we could see from Quinlan. But you never know, he could go the way of Silverstein where he doesn't get drafted or he could improve and grow an inch or two and be a 2nd rounder like Augustine.
