Cool, quick-legged, butterfly goalie who displays strong positioning, good balance, and has size to the top of the net. The top goalie available from Sweden. Lets the play come to him, anticipates well, and is pretty agile, so he recovers well. Very sharp and in control during games and forces shooters to commit by being more patient than they are. Gives few rebounds and has great feet to reposition himself quickly. Teams are not only familiar with him because his performance at last summer's Ivan Hlinkla tourney, but also because he was a member of the Shattuck St. Mary's program before returning to Sweden to hone his skills there.​

Best Swedish goalie since Markstrom imo(not counting Lehner who came thru OHL). That scouting report pretty much sums it up. His International competition numbers this season are insane, and I project him to be our WJC starter next year.

I agree IMO he is the best goalie for the draft and is underrated for the draft, this guy is a high end goalie and should be the 1st goalie taken in the 1st round IMO, he will probably be 2nd to 3rd goalie taken because he plays europe.

Lehner was playing for Frölunda when he was drafted.

I think it all comes down to what happens with Niklas Svedberg and Johan Holmqvist during the off-season. If either of those two leaves Brynäs during the summer I would expect Dansk to stay as the back-up next season.

well with any Euro there is always a chance...im not sure 100% if he will....usually your best bet for guys coming over are Czech, Slovaks, Swiss...but latley Russians have been good for coming over too and the odd swedish player here and there but usually I find Finish and Swedish players stay home and play, but if he comes im sure there are GM's contacting his agent or him and seeing what is going on, if he says yes then he will be drafted, but there is never a list of a for sure players coming over usually the GMs of the teams make the calls and find out if there target players are going to come over or not and scouts like me have no clue who is coming over but we see the players and tell the GM who is good but he does the work in finding out, once I tell him who is good it is out of my hands. Even some other teams like Quebec might have known Grigorenko was coming but say Chicoutimi would never have a clue he was.

Ok thank you for the input. The Erie Otters desperately need a goaltender for next season and Dansk or Serebryakov seem to be high end players. I hope he comes over and plays but would the NHL team that drafts him (Dansk) be able to sway him and have him come to North America?

It's possible they might talk him in to it as for the moment it looks like both Brynäs senior keepers, Johan Holmqvist and Niklas Svedberg, are staying with the team wich leaves little room for Dansk to play. The only scenario is if both goalies get injured or he takes a huge step this offseason.

What might hold him back is that he is currently working with(imo) Swedens best goalie coach. There have litteraly been goalies coming here for the sole reason of working with him. And i believe that was one of the reasons Dansk chose to come to Brynäs in the first place.

Not sure how eager Holmqvist is to spend another season as a backup though. And Brynäs isn't the richest team around, having a backup goalie that is one of the most well paid players doesn't fit into their policy. Brynäs usually like to give young players a chance. Honken and Brynäs at this point would probably be better off parting ways.

Backup? They have shared the work load all year and is one of the reasons they both have looked so fresh in the playoffs. Holmqvist was our numer one going in to the playoffs byt got sick and Svedberg took over. There is no numer one in Brynäs. And both of them has contracts runing through next season. Besides Holmqvist took a big "home town" discount to play with Brynäs this season. His contract is not all that big. And Brynäs in not exactly short on money these days either. They have the third highest salary budget in the league if i remember correctly.

Both plays/played for Brynäs, both had Pekka as goalie coach so obviously their styles are very similar. Markström is, as far as i can tell, the better prospect but not by much.

Not to get too off topic but how does the Swedish developmental system work exactly? Dansk would have left when he was 13. Do they play throughout a conventional minor hockey system compared to those of Canada until then? When do they become property of the "club" teams and enter their developmental system and how does that differ from where they originally developed?

No, almost every Swedish team from Elitserien to Division 2(tier 4)boasts a number of junior teams in different age groups and divisions(it's basically just like the mens legues except the junior system is separate). they are located in the same city as the Senior team and usually play and practice in the same facilities. They either stay in their home town and play their junior years there and then play for the senior team or ,if you are from a smaller market with limited junior development, go to a better market where they have a chance to work with better coaches.

There are only a few junior-only teams in Sweden and the players usually go to one of the big teams once they are old enough or feel they should move on because they are to good.

They are property of the teams from the time they sign their first Junior contract. Until then they can move freely. Many Swedish prospects play on the same team from the day they first start playing hockey until they are NHL-bound.

I'd take Dansk over Subban and Vasilievsky.
Dansk's technical game is much better than the others, and his over composure is better as well.
