He has been probably mentioned elsewhere, but i couldn't find a thread, so, yeah.

19 years old.

6 foot 2 goalie, with duel nationality;
American ad Czech.

He is the son of former NHL:er Marek Malik

He was born in Raleigh, NC
- represents Czechs at international level

He is having a monster season in the Sm-Liiga,
he was amazing in the regular season,
twice better in the play-offs

Its not all about his stats, but how he plays
is the key here.

2022 doesn't seem to have top goalie prospects?,
maybe Malik could be first goalie in the 2022 draft picked?

15-9-9 record / 1.97 gaa / .923 sv% / 4 SO
7-3-0 record / 1.30 gaa /.950 sv% / 2 SO

KooKoo been the underdog the entire play-offs,
wild card round included. Now they are leading the
biggest favorites Tappara 1-0
and are 3 wins away from the finals!

Jets need to add some solid goaltending prospects and wouldn’t mind at all if they took a chance on him with either one of their 2nd round picks or their 3rd if he still available.

There is a running joke that New Jersey drafted the wrong Malik (Malek) when they selected Jakub Malek last year.

Both play for Czech U20.

Son of Marek Malik, shootout legend. God damn I feel old now.

He always was pretty underwhelming at international level. You could see the talent was there but he never really put it together and I always wondered why they kept on playing him since at club level he was just as underwhelming. Based on his 21/22 season though he should absolutely get drafted.

After great first Liiga season Malik's stats have taken a big dip this season.

Just shows how volatile goaltending can be.

If you take a look at the team though it's not like anyone there is providing anything either. It looks like the team is bad and Malik's numbers are going along with it. Tampa made a good pick here, this season means nothing except to have him play before they bring him over

Is he the starter or backup? Is this a playoff team?
Malik has played 20 games and Oskari Setänen 31 games, so he's backup I guess.

KooKoo is still on playoff race. They're at 64 points and Jukurit have the last playoff spot at 69 points. And KooKoo has 2 games less played than Jukurit. KooKoo still has 11 games left to play.

Malik with amazing game in Liiga playoffs. 38 saves and 2 allowed goals. But not enough. KooKoo loses 2-1 and down 3-0 in series against Tappara. Malik's first start in the playoffs.
