Haven't had the chance to watch him which is annoying but he's been very good the past two seasons in the USHL and has earned this ELC. His rookie USHL year he was in a tandem role with Jeremy Swayman posting a 0.603 GSAA/60. This season he took the starting role and handled it really well pushing his GSAA/60 up to 0.630. The Jets situation is working out nicely as Hutchinson leaving will create a spot for Berdin in the pro (most likely the ECHL being his first stop).

Got promoted to the Moose today. I imagine he'll see some games, Ken Appleby has had a rough start with the team.

Edit - Appears Eric Comrie is travelling with the Jets to Finland, so this gives Berdin a good shot. Jets play in Finland Nov 1st and 2nd, Moose have five games from Oct 27 to Nov 3.

Well he's made a pretty good first impression. 35 saves in a 2-1 shoot out victory against a division rival. Topping it off with 1st star honours. Real Nice!

He has some work to do in terms of his positioning, rebound control but the raw abilities are there to be an great NHL goalie. Hopefully he continues to develop his game in the AHL as the starting netminder for the next 2 seasons.
