Penguins don’t have a 2nd round pick. It’ll be interesting to see if they just select him or trade back (if chosen). Because Jarry is not the answer.
Maybe but he's far from NHL... 3 years is a good timeline. eg. Vanecek also went in 2nd round and he took 4 I think. Or Askaraov and Walstedt have yet to play consistently (or at all) in NHL and they are higher 'pedigree' type picks.Penguins don’t have a 2nd round pick. FTR.. hope I'm wrong and he's a starter next year! But I don't see it.
Would be really cool to see.. has a Czech goalie ever gone 1st round? Don’t think so eh?first rounder

Great at WJCs, good in (those times) extremely strong czech extraliga and alot of injuries.Marek Schwarz!
I was absolutely positive he'd be a star. No idea what happened.
Hrabal measured in at close to 6'7''..
I think San Jose will take this kid at 26 if he’s still there

I'd love that.. he'd be arriving in SJ just as they'd be turning things around!I was thinking San Jose too, they might have an interesting dilemma with picks 26 and 36. Reminds me of LA having 22 and 33 at the 2019 Draft. LA wanted a defenseman and a forward out of the two picks but they had several forwards that they liked in that layer but only a couple of D. So instead of purely sticking to their list, they went D first (Tobias Bjornfot) since they didn't think they'd like the D options at 33. Then they took Arthur Kaliyev at 33. After the draft, I vaguely recall their head scout saying something to indicate that they actually had Kaliyev ranked higher than Bjornfot.
I could see San Jose looking at it similarly if they think Hrabal is head and shoulders the best goalie prospect and "reach" for him just to make sure they get him.
