Leevi Merilainen, Ottawa draft pick, just got sent back. He will likely be the Frontenacs starter, with Vaccari backing him up.

I really like Vaccari as a goalie but unfortunately his size means there's almost no chance of getting drafted. He's really only 5'9" based on the Fronts roster, and from what I've seen live he's closer to 5'9" than 5'11". If he was 6'2" I think he'd be a front runner based on his athleticism but unfortunately it doesn't make up for his size.

I hope NHL teams prove me wrong and take a flyer on him because I do think he could be the exception to the rule, but that could just be biased thought.

is 5 foot 9 really that much shorter what
5 foot 10 (juuse saros)?

It is just over 2 cm height difference,
from a certain distance you cant tell the difference.

but yeah 10... double digit number,
9 is a single digit number.
I guess very confusing and scary to many scouts and general managers..

Saros is listed as 5'11". Here's a list of any goalies 5'11" and under that have played in the last 6 years:

Other than Saros - all of those goalies broke into the leaque over 10 years ago. I really hope I'm wrong because I like Vaccari - but the truth is he has a massive uphill battle because of his size.

i think saros at 5 foot 11 is a bit strecth
i think he has always been listed as 177 cm tall here in finland. which is 5 foot 10.

i think he is too short to ever have a chance. Just didn’t want to be the first to say it.
