Blackwood and Hart emerging is very promising for Canada. Along with Dipietro and Ian Scott we actually have some goalies in our pipeline now. Still not close to the amazing depth the USA has at the position, but considering the cupboard was nearly empty a few years ago I’ll take it.

Would probably disagree there. There is plenty of talk Hart vs Blackwood vs (even Binnington) in the respective team boards, prospects board, and fantasy board.

But only Hart has a main board thread. You should start a Blackwood thread on the main board...something like, "Is Blackwood ready to be a starter in NJ or is it still Kinkaid or Schneider", I think it will get good discussion going.

Not necessarily bad that he gets no spotlight, some players develop better with no heat from the media.

Age. This is Harts first season out of junior. Blackwood spent two seasons in the A and ECHL.

Both are looking really good though.

Why was he just sent down? I know Schneider was called up so do NJ fans think Kincaid will be traded and then MB recalled?

Certainly showing he belongs in the NHL and deserves more talk. The Mtero division could be stacked with young goalies going forward.

Schneider's AHL conditioning in Binghamton had just finished up, so the Devils had to call him up and send Blackwood down to make room. Yes, I do think trading Kinkaid and recalling MB is a likely scenario.

They have to figure out what, if anything, Cory has left, and they rather Blackwood plays in some meaningful games in Binghamton in the meantime.

Staff said he could be back sooner then later. Whether it’s befayse Kinkaid is traded or Cory continues to be awful, IDK

If the team was closer to the bubble I would imagine he would still be up and getting starts.

We're playing the Kings tomorrow and only a truly epic piece of dogcrap goalie like Cory could manage to lose to them. The move was simply to keep the tank train rolling. Cory's back, tanking for Jack!

At some point he is going to start getting recognition as a top goaltender prospect again. .932 sv% on an AHL level team. His athleticism size combo is up there with Markstrom..who just didnt work.

Officially on the Blackwood hype train (partly because I own him in a keeper league ). But love what I've seen from him so far. Has everything you want in an ideal starter.

I hear ya. I too have him on a couple dynasty teams and love his outlook for the future.
