Saw the game tonight, Kid had a hell of a game. Reminds me alot of Spencer Martin just in the way he composes himself.

I may be biased as a colts fan, but this guy needs to be talked about more. He has great size at 6'4 215lbs, and had some outstanding numbers in December going 10-1 with a 1.73 GAA and a .944 save percentage along with a shutout. He's been one of the main reasons for the colts success as of late.

Rated an "A" skater by Central scouting I believe and seems to be the top rated North American goalie. I'd day possibly in the 2nd or 3rd round.

If he continues to play well throughout the rest of the year and avoids the injuries that plagued him at the start of the year, he should be the top North American goaltender off the board.

His size and athleticism are going to be big time appealing (the prototypical mould of today's NHL net minder).

I'd say that probably puts him in the 20-45 range.

Blackwood talked to most teams, including Edmonton, at the combine. Brock has him at #10 in his OHL rankings:

Super inconsistent this year. He's likely still one of the first goalies drafted in 2015 though. The overall package is going to be too tantalizing for NHL teams to pass up. The good thing is that he finished the year strong with a good playoffs, ultimately the final impression he made on scouts. At 6'4, 215lbs, Blackwood has NHL size and then some. He plays a traditional butterfly style and takes up a ton of the net still when he's down on his pads. Blackwood also moves well and is capable of some great saves going post to post. With his positioning, he really takes up the bottom of the net well and swallows up shots from the perimeter. When he's on, he's probably the most difficult goaltender in the OHL to beat. His positioning, focus, and rebound control will need continued refinements, but he's a very solid net minder and likely a very solid 2nd round pick this June.

It's really disappointing Samsonov wasn't at the combine considering he's the #1 goalie in the draft in the opinion of most, including myself. It would've been nice to see how his workout stacked up against Blackwood's which was just fantastic.

Yeah, he was at or near the top of a lot of the tests. Big and very athletic...sounds an awful lot like what Tim Murray looks for in goalies. Wouldn't be surprised to see Buffalo draft him.

In Barrie, I've seen him lots. My personal feeling is he's very raw (as most goalies are at this age) but his projectibility is ridiculous. He's athletic, covers the net well with his size etc and down the stretch and into the playoffs was definitely the Colts best player
