Will he be in the SHL this year?

He’s such a phenomenal goaltender I don’t know what the situation is with his club teams but damn he’s the real deal.

His team have probably the best goalie in the league so probably not. No Goalie has ever played regularly in the SHL as an U18 player so it would be historic if he even got a few games.

I see, good to know.

He should be in the conversation for the WJC I would imagine.

He could be, but it will be surprising to see him make the team. Monten, our coach, generally doesn't trust underagers much.

Saved 49/49 shots (and a penalty shot) today in J20. GAA 1.00 and SVS% 97.37. It's early of course, but an impressive start nonetheless.

Edit: Changed the stats, they weren't updated.

And Luleå has been outshot (heavily) every game he has played: 31-14, 34-26, and now 49-25.

Just faced SuperElit Norra's(or just SuperElit's in general) by far best team Leksand(coming into the game Leksand had a +54 GD with 69GF, & 15GA...) and gave them their first loss. Faced 34 shots(Leksand faced 17), let in 2 in a 3-2 win, Luleå also had to kill a penalty in the last 3 minutes of the game.

Another great game against Leksand today, allowing 1 goal in a shootout loss. Now the sv% leader in SuperElit with a .933 sv%.

Came in as the backup against Mora after Luleå went down 6-2, ended up saving 13/13 and helped Luleå win in the shootouts.

Small bump, he is looking good but he is not gonna get called up to Lulea's main team:

For Lulea's U20: 12 games played, 2.4 GAA, 0.922 save percentage
For Sweden U18: 5 games played, 2.34 GAA, 0.935 save percentage

Funny you bumped this today, as it looks like he has been offered a contract with the senior team today.

Is a backup today in Allsvenskan, but just thought I'd mention that he leads SuperElit in sv% among goalies having played in more than 33% of their team's games. His lead is even larger in the SuperElit Top 10 portion of the season.

Luleå have brought him back to Luleå now, and they aren't happy with how SSK has handled the loan, as he has had no chance at playing in a game. Which makes you question why SSK wanted to loan him in the first place, sure one of their goalies have been on a hot streak, but Wallstedt wasn't even the backup in any game.

I know it is outrageous and absurd to suggest such a thing...

But with uncertainty at top of 2021 draft, we are probably due for the "goalie going #1 overall" conversation.

It's probably never going to happen again though. Goalies just aren't that valuable compared to other positions.
