He will cover up for the minor errors the Isles' D produces (more without Pelech); NYI should be among the lowest GAA, yearly.

Cannot wait to see him go post-to-post, flat out robbing a sure goal.

When you wrote about the minor errors that D produces, I somehow remembered this moment and that Sorokin couldn't exactly cover it up:

So is this kid as good as the rangers goalie of the future? Inquiring minds want to know

Allegedly. Shestorkin (even though the sample size is small) has played just like he did in Russia. The hope is Sorokin does as well and they continue their friendly rivalry here.

Metro is absolutely loaded with excellent young goaltenders.

You think he’s gonna still be the guy at 35 years old? People forget how old him and Shesterkin are

Much like how the Rangers must feel, they'll be happy to have him for his 5-7 prime years. Also will be interesting to see if the lower games per season in the KHL translate to a longer peak in the NHL or if the longer NHL season shows wear and tear on either of them.

At least as good. KHL insider Eronko said he's one of the 3 best KHL goalies of the last decade at least
Wonder who the other 2 are. Vasilevskiy and Samsonov? Or does he have Shesterkin ahead of Samsonov? No doubt all great goalies. Looking forward to seeing the NY head to heads.

Shestyorkin is better (Vezina level) but Sorokin should be a stud as well (bonafide starter). As long as Isles play their Lou/Trotz unwatchable style of hockey that is so great for goalies, their numbers should end up quite close. This Russian 3-S trio (Shestyorkin, Samsonov, Sorokin) will dominate the league in the years to come.

For all those Isles fans coming to scream at me for daring to say Shestyorkin > Sorokin, of course, you're entitled to have your own opinion and we're not gonna resolve that now - just bookmark this post and let's revisit in 3-4 years.

Hopefully a good healthy debate for years..

?? Vasilevskiy and Samsonov and Shesterkin have all played in the KHL in the last decade as well. I’d say he’s talking about 2 of them.

You might be confusing "most talented" with "best". Vasiilevskiy, Shestyorkin and Samsonov have total of 0 KHL best goalie awards, while both Koshechkin and Yeryomenko have 2 each. For the reference, Sorokin has 1 award of this kind.
