Considering Georgiev, Francouz and Grubauer are all 6’1 on a good day the size is a complete non-issue to me. The obsession with drafting the biggest goalie you can find gets you Shamil Shmakov with back problems at an early age and a guy who will never sign a pro contract.

I like that the Avs seemed to have came up with a purposed strategy here, which is a departure from the we’ll see in 8 years if he deserves a NHL contract approach they have with their other picks. They had zero goalies in their system, nothing on the reserve list, nothing on ELC. I like what I see from Nabokov and will be interesting to follow his career.
