G Dmitri Nikolayev - Spartak Moscow, KHL (2018 undrafted)

Right, they did the same against Kunlun. They kept him in until shutout was possible and then pulled him. It does make some sense, I suppose.

In what could have been a major development for Nikolayev's season, Berdin is signed but sent on loan IMMEDIATELY to Sochi. Seems like Nikolayev isn't going to VHL or anywhere else, for that matter, a major win for him.

Nikita Lysenkov or Nikita Bogdanov are career VHL goalies and they had some spectacular seasons (we are talking .95+ Sv%) in the SKA system because their lower-level teams are that dominant (also VHL is THAT low-scoring). So almost any stat-related argument regarding SKA carries almost no value. Considering he has never played for Russian junior national teams at any age or level there must have been a reason for it.

Now, however, I agree that it's time to start watching more closely.

23 year old starting goaltender on SKA Saint Petersburg, lead the KHL in Wins 2022-23. Given that 5 of the top leading 10 Goaltenders in Wins in the NHL for 2022-23 are Russian, this guy seems like a no brainer signing for somebody whenever his current KHL contract expires.

What's his contract status in the K and any chance he gets picked up by an NHL club?

According to Eliteprospects.com it looks like he is signed through 2024-25.

Based on his numbers he had a nice run in the Gagarin Cup playoffs; SKA reached the Western Conference finals before losing to CSKA.

Any thoughts on his development?

How will he be affected by the acquisition of Mattson? Any truth to the Lada Togliatti loan rumors?

Looks like he's only played one game with Neftekhimik so far. Is that due to injury or other factors?

Seems like 25-year-old KHL rookie Filipp Dolganov has played well for Neftekhimik but I could not find much information about him.

Came back here to check up on how he's been doing this year.. to find a whole lotta nothing. What the hell. He was great last year. At least Daniil Isayev has continued to dominate
