Recorded his first VHL shutout win yesterday, stopped 75 out of 77 in his first 3 VHL games.

Is he really being downgraded for his size? 6'2" is hardly small... Even so, I understand that "bigger" means you fill more of the net, but in general, bigger also translates to slower and stiffer as well.

I've really liked Akhtyamov from what I've seen of him, which admittedly isn't much, but could his be a case of exposure too? Granted, he's not Askarov good. His rebound control isn't great, and he's definitely pretty raw, but he's quick, handles the puck well, and seems to play with a lot of swagger.

I'm not a scout, but it's obviously a case of lack of exposure. He has never played in an international tournament, and never played in the KHL so none of the scouts have seen him. Though it wouldn't surprise me if some were taking a peek at him now.

@Caser we need you again

Good size, aggressive style and not bad in terms of short-term stability, but in terms of longer-term stability I was a bit disappointed of him last season, as he was pretty bad at the last third (or something) of the season.
