Future of the team is incredibly bleak

But if you keep your picks you don’t have to bottom out for ten years. Anyway it’s the same story every year, too late now we are going for it.
Yup, same story, even dating back to pre Shanahan. We never truly wanted a rebuild. Greed and lack of patience eh? But who cares right now. Just enjoy the ride and see what happens

What a difference a couple weeks make huh. This is the most optimistic I’ve seen leaf nation in a long time.

Let's be real here. We have arguably 2 prospects of any note in Cowan and maybe Danford neither move the needle. We have no draft picks because we traded them all at the TDL. 2 of our 4 core pieces are UFAs and likely to walk for nothing. We have no #1 dman, hell no #2 dman.

We have NO future. The only possible move this offseason is to throw money around in free agency. For any long time fans, we've seen this story before. We will end up paying players like Komaserk, Lombardi, Armstrong, Connolly, Clarkson, etc big money in free agency and be trash but with a cap strapped team.

There is a very real chance we have gifted Bruins another top 10 draft pick. I am nearing my breaking point with this team.
I hear what you are saying about no future, however, you cannot get players like Carlo without giving up a piece of the future. I like Brandon Carlo on the blueline, but since you have to trade for a player like that, the Leafs have to give up something, unfortunately, that was Fraser Minten.

I like Fraser Minten but he's replaceable, people forget he was a 2nd round pick.

He wasn't a top prospect when he was drafted, he developed to the point where he kind of became one which allowed us to land Carlo but he wasn't one when he was drafted.

What's to say they can't land somebody just as good if not better this year in the draft.

I'm not saying they will, I don't know that, but It's not like he is or was a grade A prospect you can't replace.

He wasn't and isn't.

This is a sprint to the Cup. Nothing is won, nor will anything be won until they hoist the Cup. The future players and upper management will be decided in this post-season

So are you ready to admit you were wrong?

If they win 1 Cup every single draft pick they’ve traded since the core 4 was drafted would be worth it. Just win the damn cup and nobody is going to care about the next rebuild or how bleak the future is. Also one thing in the Leafs favor is that logo has a lot of pull in free agency. They can kind of fill in major holes with a name player rather be like Columbus where you need to draft well constantly to stay competitive

I’d imagine everyone will be traded, not resigned, released… whatever in the summer.

Not one olayer on this shit team should be back. NONE

Trash franchise

When we lose. I would seriously consider trading Matthews, marner(sign and trade), Rielly. I'd actually keep JT, he won for us against Tampa and always plays with his heart even though he is slowing down.

You cannot trade everybody. They has given themselves a 3 to 4 year window to win the Cup. After that, they will be the Sharks for the next half decade.

The addition of Tanev has solidified what was so-so D. If the 3 clowns outperformed their cap hits like Tanev has, the Leafs would be waiting for the winner of the Battle of Florida.

How many times do we need to watch the same thing over and over

If we lose this series, I'm down to blow it all up.

Trade Nylander, let Marner and Tavares walk, Trade Matthews, Rielly. Build around Knies and that's it.
I don’t know why you’d let JT walk, where else are you going to get a 40 goal point per game man for 8 million, William could be better but 11.5 for another 7 years seems like a great deal. M &M though yeah see ya, unless they take a realistic contract next time, as in no raises

For fun, I expect IF the unthinkable happens and they blow this Marner is gone and Shanny is too. Anyone expecting more than that is probably not getting it. Could see assistant coaching changes.

They'll pay Sam Bennett 10M in UFA to come here and re-sign Knies. Robertson is gone IMO i'll guess for draft pick(s) at the draft. Kampf is gone and so is Jarnkrok if they can find takers. They will run it mostly back with Marner for Bennett + a few bottom 6 changes.

If they falter again they ask Matthews to waive his NMC and try to find a deal like.. Wyatt Johnsson + Thomas Harley for Matthews + something and retool that way

That’s a question we all have to ask ourselves. Some have no limit while others will reevaluate whether they’re comfortable and confident in the organization’s vision of how to win a championship.
