Yakemchuk & Fiddler as future replacements for Jensen & Zub would certainly help make Ottawa's defence much tougher to play against especially the 3rd pairing with Kleven - Fiddler.![]()
Charting Blake Fiddler’s path from skates with his dad to the 2025 NHL Draft
After starring for Team USA at the U18 Worlds, Fiddler could be a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.www.nytimes.com
He could be an option at 21. I wouldn't hate it.
Fiddler also provides some insurance if Yakemchuk doesn't cut itYakemchuk & Fiddler as future replacements for Jensen & Zub would certainly help make Ottawa's defence much tougher to play against especially the 3rd pairing with Kleven - Fiddler.
I like his length , he can skate/mobility, he can defend , displays high iq, can make a good 1st pass... not looking at him for offense or his toughness.Blake Fiddler is not really tough or 'hard to play against' in the typical sense of the phrase. He defends with his feet and stick.
Good player, though. Exceptional skating for his size. Moves the puck pretty well and can create shooting lanes for himself with his lateral mobility, but I can't see him as a point producer in the NHL. Projectable but not a high-end talent.
Best case is probably like a Connor Murphy type. Should have a long career as a complementary defender.
Fits a lot of what the Senators like. Projectability, size, athleticism, bloodlines, positional scarcity.
