We cannot score to save our life but other teams barely score against us. What the hell...

When I found out Brandon Sutter scored the GWG with less than 2 minutes left, I couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

The gritty 2-1 loss is becoming the new norm instead of the lethargic 5-1 loss.

Just came here to say, that the Canes are not a terrible team. Lots of bad luck (well is it really bad luck in the bigger "McEichel" picture?) and they are losing some very close games. I wish you guys were rewarded with a TOP2 pick. This team is not awful, they are just not getting the points.

It´s not fun to lose, but I feel like this torture won´t last forever for your franchise. Good luck in 2015, I´m sure you have your "secret" wishes!

The Pens announcers basically repeated over and over again that the Hurricanes weren't a bad team, but were probably going to lose 2-1. Even the opposition knows exactly what's coming at this point.

You know how -- back when we were losing 5-1 all the time -- we wondered what it would look like if this team actually gave a damn? Well. Question answered. We lose 2-1 all the time.

My only fear is that Ron Francis thinks we're closer to competing than we really are and doesn't commit to the future as fully as he should. We're competing, sure, but there's no way around that record. At the end of the day, one-goal losses are still losses. Teams that are "close" aren't 10-23-4.

As well as *some* bad luck, this team is also seriously lacking in talent. That point gets glazed over too much, IMO. I just don't think we're as close as everyone seems to think.

I was at the Avett Brothers concert instead of watching the game.

But just by checking the box score I see that #GritVetty BSuttsy scored a goal while #JStaal was held entirely off the scoresheet, and now I demand a re-do of that trade.

But in all seriousness, a loss is a loss, which is good at this point. I'm just glad Lindholm got a point.

The team we've seen lately isn't a bad team.

It's a team that's allowing less than two goals or less a game on most nights, that's got a killer PK, and a defense that's working surprisingly well considering the players that composes it. You have to believe that the one-goal a game is simply an unsustainable pace with the talent on the roster.

Arguably, December could have easily been a 9-10 win month if the offense was playing anywhere near the norm.
