Currently listening to a 10-hour YT vid of Gervais' XM show.

I've re-watched the animated versions just an insane amount of times. "I've always wanted to kick a duck up the arse."
Listening to some today-- "But if he did.... why take drugs to ski? Cause all you do is balance. It's liking saying '.... and we've just found out the people on the toboggan were on crack'. It's not going to help him."

For me personally nothing evokes a laugh from me more than Nathan for You.

Kenny vs Spenny and Impractical Jokers would be second and third.

I got a lot of mileage out of "The Kids in the Hall". It's sketch comedy, so it's hit-and-miss by nature. Some of their sketches are infinitely re-watchable for me while others, like "30 Helens", do nothing. The first couple of seasons are dated in appearance, but the final three are reasonably fresh. The filmed segments were my favorites.

After the show went off the air, it was syndicated five nights a week for a time. Seeing episodes back to back took the shine off some recurring characters for me, as I hadn't noticed how often they were used during the original run. Scott Thompson played a number of funny characters, but seemed intent on writing primarily for Buddy Cole. I grew beyond tired of his monologues.

I really like the Cincinatti Kid sketch.

Back when I used to laugh out loud the first show that comes to mind is Taxi.

Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K and Larry David are the only ones that can really get a rise out of me these days.

Like I said, I've watched the animated HBO series just a dumb number of times.

I NEED MORE.

To me that is the same as Peter Griffin holding he knee in pain for 2 straight minutes. I get why it should be funny, but it's annoying. Maybe it was more innovative for it's time.

It was. The whole Jim character was unbelievably fresh and funny at the time, as was most of the cast of characters on Taxi, and when that bit came along in his character development it was laugh out loud funny. Funniest bit I ever heard and was very famous at the time. I get how it doesn't really translate to today, but I still think it's funny.

Frasier

David Hyde Pierce was a comic gem on that series.

That show was so well written and has great acting. The main cast was one of the best casts I've seen in any show, but the supporting characters were played very strongly as well. It overstayed it's welcome by a few seasons, but it had a great run.

It absolutely was, most newer shows have re-done bits like this over and over again. Even loads of the kids shows on Nick & Disney have done their own spin on classic TV comedy.

I'm sure that lots of stuff in earlier sitcoms was stolen from somewhere too; but for a TV audience, they were fresh then.

On topic, I'll give another vote for Impractical Jokers. I've had to pause that show for my wife and I to stop laughing a bunch of times.

In terms of consistent laughs, prime Simpsons, South Park, Seinfeld and Always Sunny are at the top. In terms of biggest laughs, I immediately think of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras, and Flight of the Conchords.
