I don't have an issue with what CMD was doing, but the fact his teammates just wandered around like he was on mute made the video really weird.

I mean, their actions almost made it look like it was a video clip of a villain doing a monologue.

They didn't care, looked like a typical day in the locker room...when an established and respected leader speaks everyone listens carefully.

The clip of him after Game 7 was is hearbreaking. No one can ever question his motives and goals.

He will always be questioned until he takes a very friendly team cap hit... judging by Drai's contract he's probably not going to.

Taking a huge portion of it and then yelling at scrubs ain't the answer.

Money > Stanley Cup for McD

So he should grt paid 8 mil to play with scrubs like Nurse who gets paid more than him while not being 1/10th of him in value? Man you are leaving in some kind of dreamland thinking he would want to make less than his worth being the best player.

I hear last year's "Cup or Bust" tee shirts are now available at 50% off.

Yeah he's worth every penny. If Connor's not on that team they ain't even making the playoffs. Maybe if Darnell Nurse played even half as good as his 9.25 AAV, or Leon scores even a single goal in the finals, or the fact Mattias Janmark was tied for the team lead in goals they probably spend the summer celebrating instead of wondering.

MJ was fierce and intimidating. McDavid comes off as comical.
There was a story about another super competitive guy laying in to his teammates. Kobe Bryant, a great champion, apparently did this at an all star game. He played into his teammates during a timeout about how they were not trying hard enough defending. Then he went out and played like a demon defending and lead his team to the Allstar game win. True leaders (and winners) back up their words with exceptional play and winning. What did McDavid do in game seven? Nothing but lose.

MJ had cameras following him around 24/7. They captured his raw emotion moments and his awkward for the camera moments. He had the ability to forget about the cameras after awhile. McDavid clearly is acting inauthentic for the cameras.

Was this before or after his team went down 3-0 or before Game 7? I still think his contract and Drai's make it almost impoossible to win in that situation. Money > Cups, he made his choice.

There's a video of him dropping an F bomb after an Erie Otters loss when he was a young tot. McD f***ing hates losing which to be honest is what you want in a star player....

personally his words is not far from what happens in the locker rooms often. I'm sure lots of teams drop f bombs. I know for sure JT. MIller will be dropping f bombs, heck he drops f bombs even when we win.

They basically get ghosted by everyone for 3 games in an Oilers jersey and he steps the hell up with a voice after having one of the best playoff seasons in decades and people don't like the fire he's showing?

Hell, you'd demand your team captain be this guy come the SCF and if you found out he wasn't you'd be eashamed.

Good on him for being a leader with a voice
of an angst filled teenager

Sounds more like a spoiled only child whose used to having everything handed to him having a temper tantrum than a leader inspiring his troops.
