GDT: Frozen Four

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Moore has had plenty of time to get the bounces.. at some point looking good and getting chances bit unable to best goalies IS the truth.. stop making excuses..Great speed...cannot score my goals and neither is he puking up elite assets as not using his linemates to multi-scores..I'm not a playmaker.. Profile of a bottom line flashy but ineffective scorer and just a checker..=a JAG..justcanither guy.not special so why get so excited about hom?

Fonal Denverv5 Providence 1...no points ts for Harding Kelkeyvor Mustard...Harding was Even..Mistard -2 ...discrepancy with Aidan Thompson...USCHO site shows 1g 2a (both prinaries) and+3...but ncaa official site and CHN site show only 1g 1a+3...dodvthey change an assistvand yakevitvway fronThompson?

I guess tge NCAA site is the official stats to cite.

Still even just 2g+2a +3 is a goid game.

If you watch Moore play he actually basically never has the puck

He’s at his best when he’s disruptive forcing turnovers and keeping plays alive for his teammates. I have some really genuine concerns about how a player like that translates to the NHL but there’s no way of knowing yet

That’s sounds like a bottom 6er, which is where a lot of us have had him pegged for a while now. Andrew Cogliano is the name that keeps popping up as comparisons. Maybe a bit disappointing for his draft position, but that’s a useful nhl player all the same.

I can still see Moore in the top 6, at wing. I think he could be a pretty decent complimentary player.
I'm not sure how confident I'd be in putting him in a top 6 role. He is a bit of a chemistry killer. I can see him play a top 6 role like Ilya Mikheyev has played in the top 6. More of a 3rd line forward that you can swap with a true top 6 forward to balance out the lines.

He’s going to be a bit of a pest, and will have a pk role. Tweener 2nd-3rd line seems about it. If he’s on the 4th line in his prime, the Hawks likely will be sitting very pretty.

Getting a quality middle-sixer out of a 19th overall pick wouldn't be disappointing. Now, had CHI traded up to the top-10 and selected him where they had him rated, that'd be a bit more disappointing. But we'll see how things shake out. Of the guys drafted 9-20 in 2023, none of them have really done much to suggest they'll be significantly better players than Moore in the NHL.

Yeah thankfully we didn’t trade up like we wanted to.

Yea its a dig at how much the Hawks brass loved Moore that they mightve had him like top 5 and picked him over Leonard lol
isn't leonard one of the best prospects in the game lol

I don't know if they had him top-5, but we know they had him top-10 because they desperately tried to trade into the top-10 to pick him. I didn't even really mean it as a dig, but I'm curious who they had rated higher. I assume Leonard but who knows.

To be fair honestly everyone on public lists had Moore like 8-12 and he was projected as a 2 way top 6 forward and comfortably replace Cooley at U of M. He jus hasn’t really developed which unfortunately does happen even with the best prospects sometimes

also doesn't mean that he can't figure it out at the nhl level, its unlikely his production takes a step up from college but things happen

Take this with a healthy dose of salt, but I heard from someone that Thompson isn’t going to be signing with the Hawks when his season ends. If that’s the case then he’s likely part of a package to get the team some forward help.

pretty sure Seravalli said this on a broadcast last week that Rinzel, Moore and Greene would sign and Thompson might not, he was also a pick from the old regime if that matters at all in his thought process, cant imagine the Hawks would have any issue giving him NHL games this year so its not opportunity
