Post-Game Talk: From Riches to Rags. Nucks lose 5-3

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

This is by far more games than Lankinen has ever played in his NHL career. And he may finally be starting to crack.

Let be objective here. If you had told Canuck fans at the start of season that Demko would barely play a month; and that a journeyman goaltender like Lankinen, picked up for a song well into training camp, would get the bulk of the starts--I suspect most would have written off the season right there and then.

Lankenin is really one of the biggest reasons this team isn't 10 points out of the playoffs right now, and closer to the Sharks and Hawks, than to an NHL wildcard.

Forgot that this was a 10 a.m. game. Well got to see most of the 3rd, which was the entertaining part anyways. too bad that Hogs and EP get hurt when both were showing up.

If they are out for a while, there is no way QH can carry this team, even if we seem to have a stellar D now.

Lots of stupid comments on here. It's pretty much an asshole move to insult "elbows up".

My wife is American and she hates that orange cockwaffle more than me, and thats saying a bit. So sad to see Orr and Gretzky tarnishing their reputations these days. Just sad.

Glad i didnt watch the game, seriously miller vs petterson and Petterson decided its okay not to contribute on the score sheet? Seriously? At least Miller score an empty net goal and an assist.

tbh despite a some gut punch moments (basically all the goals against) and a gut punch result, that game was fun af to watch

haven’t seen quinn skating at this level in a while

We're no longer in control of our playoff destiny and there are like 4 teams competing for the same spot right now. Basically a roll of the dice whether we make it or not. Unfortunate that Lank didn't quite hold up, luck running out seems like the theme for us this season.

Canucks got Canucked.

How many games have the Canucks won or taken to OT when they were out shot this bad or worse?

Hughes dashing around all over but to no avail, getting pissed off at team mates.

A bad day for them, Calgary wins and passes them, St Louis wins and extends their lead, Utah winning against Tampa, if they win they are within a point.

The team is worn down, they can't play with the pedal to the metal all year and not expect some bumps and bruises, injuries.

They had plenty of shots even without EP40 and Hogs.

ep40 looked like a wrist/shoulder injury. did anyone catch miller pointing his knee? saw it during replay. call up the remanining abby guys to take over. sasson/raty whomever.

Time to 'stick a fork' in the carcass and start checking the draft rankings. You can't help but feel badly for Quinn Hughes, who's battled through so much adversity this season. He doesn't know the meaning of the term 'quit'.

He was by a mile the most dominant player on the ice this afternoon. When you watch him in games like this, it's as if he can do anything he wants out there. His skating and edge-work is 'out of this worldly'.

But as a Canuck fan you also get this sinking feeling that Hughes is going to decide that it 'isn't ever going to happen in Vancouver' and look at moving on. And you could hardly blame him if he did.

I just dont understand why Vancouver is not a popular destination for UFA players, when is the last time a big name UFA wants to sign in Vancouver? We definitely signed the wrong jake, thats for sure.

Sundin. I don’t think Benning targeted any high end players during his time here other than R Miller and Loui. I guess Lucic was the only high profile target that rejected us.

I don’t think we have had the cap in the JR era so far to target high end guys.

Is there another NHL team that has been so screwed by injuries this season as our team? The biggest loss has been Demko. Imagine if we'd had prime Demko + Lanks this year.

We get Boeser going, only to lose Petey, Hoglander, Chytil. What a shitty year this has been.

And have to wonder if Demko is ever going to be able to play a full season again. Guy's good for maybe 20-30 games.
