I’d take big Z back in a heart beat, but not at what he’s making or for the term he has.

Love Zadorov but no. We'd need retention to make it work which I doubt Boston even considers.

I mean I'd consider Desharnais for Zadorov straight up if Boston was desperate to cut their losses - which I doubt they'd do - but we couldn't even make that work cap-wise anyways.

And I wouldn't do DeBrusk I don't think, he's a better player.

Spot on. He’s a good #5 who can step up and play to a second pairing level at times. He’s one of those guys where you have to separate the player from the contract. He’s never going to be remotely worth his contract, but he can still help you win. And it’s a bit easier to stomach when you’ve got some massive steals like Marchand and Lindholm (Hampus)

The argument will always be if how he plays in the playoffs when he is able to get away with more makes over paying him in the regular season worth it.

I was very glad when the Flames traded him. He was never going to live up to a contract that paid him like an actual top 4 dman. I cannot remember who it was but there was a Flames fan who said he was a top pairing dman haha
