I've read that exchange with Friedman several times and I'm still confused what Miller was annoyed about, does anyone know

Fight ‘em all JT. They’re all wrong and you’re right!
Clearly I’m joking. JTM is a problem child. He should get out of competitive sports and get mentally healthy. He’s got some serious issues.
I don’t disagree with that at all. He’s definitely not all there mentally. But I’m not going to read 8 pages or any news articles about it. Is it confirmed that he didn’t talk to the Tkachuks about it before speaking to Elliott? Or are we all just making assumptions(that are probably true) because it’s JT Miller.

Got to be because it’s Miller.

No, he is NOT.
Miller seems decent enough away from the rink. Good husband and father. But once he’s in the competitive atmosphere of the game he struggles with controlling himself. Mike Milbury talked about his struggles with the beast inside that came out around the rink. Maybe Miller has a similar problem? Loses control and can’t stop?

I think there's something wrong with the guy.

Brady and Matthew probably should have kept that under wraps though. I mean, we all loved the 3 fights in 9 seconds, and I don't think I have ever seen that to start a hockey game in my life, but I don't mind the discretion either. I don't need to know word for word what goes on in a locker room.

I actually like how hyper-competitive Miller is and his attitude actually belongs in the NHL I grew up watching. With that said calling out your teammates in the media for talking about something said to the media is… Well, yeah certainly one way to go in your glass house JT.

JT Miller is NOT “hyper competitive” - - that’s a charade that his fan base is trying to push.

Miller is soft and toxic. That’s why he can’t manage to last anywhere. You can’t be considered “hyper competitive” when you need time off for mental health treatment after you get into a pissing match with the softest player on the team.

Can you imagine Mark Messier needing a “mental health” sabbatical because he got into it with a teammate?

What a nothingburger served up by Friedman, per normal

You think Miller wanted that time off? You can bet the team forced him to do that because of EP's candyass

If Miller was “hyper competitive” there’s no way he would have sat out three weeks for mental health treatment because he’d already be mentally tough enough to just will himself and his team to success.

Bottom line: Miller is a middle six player trying to pretend that he’s an elite top line superstar. Totally delusional.

So let me get this straight. Matt Tkachuk stages a fight so he can look good. Picks a smaller non fighter, so he can win. Gets injured during the fight. Brags about the group chat to media upsetting his teammates. Then he insists on playing the final, only to be too hurt to actually play and leaves his team short handed. And they lose in OT.

Amazing
and in this story, JT Miller is the psycho loser apparently. I must be missing something, because the Chucky brothers (even though I like them) seem like the biggest fools here when all was said and done.

JT Miller imo has reason to be upset with the Tkachuks immature shenanigans. JT Miller was probably in the same mature/professional mindset of Canada's team which was only focusing on winning the tournament as a team unit.

It's got to be annoying to see some of your teammates more concerned with planning mass fights and extracurriculars in group chats like an immature junior team than 100% focus on playing to win the tournament.
