Exactly. This is a massively increasing cap we’re looking at.
5m players will be making 7m+
7m will be in the 9.5m range
10m players could break 13m

Matt Roy would be the easy comp for me. Cap going up so maybe at $6M per instead of $5.75M?
What analytics? One of EvolvingHockey or Dom L's contract models? If so I'm pretty sure they already take into account cap risesAccording to analytics, 6mil is what he should be making now and thats before the cap rise.
You also said Miller was going to be traded weeks agoBest case Scenario - 6x5
Worst case Scenario - 7x4
Okay Case Scenario 6.5x7
Going from Desharnais to Pettersson was pretty hilarious.Pettersson is quite good. He's gonna get a bag

After just a few shifts you can already tell it was a pretty massive difference

Pesce took a discount to come to NJD.The other recent comp that comes to mind for me is Brett Pesce. Slightly older and with a little more health/durability uncertainty...but in a similar vein, plus the RH shot bump. And he rang in at just $5.5M. So that gives me a little bit of hope. But i'm fully expecting it to be a million more than that deal...for a variety of reasons. Canada tax, cap spike, less apparent durability risk, etc.
