Bruins moved off of Seguin and Hamilton for much less.
We’re talking about winning organization versus a loser organization. The fact that with all these red flags the leafs stood by him tells you there is no timeline the leafs would have won with that core.

The story is absolutely jaw dropping... I expected it to be an absolute puff piece, so kudos to Friedman for writing something that was no holds barred....

Being paid 11 million dollars a year to play a sport and spending even a second doom scrolling hate comments on social media is unhinge/insane behavior lol

As is STILL being bitter about the Elc bonuses..... It may have started as a legitimate issue (though convenient to note that it's not like he received less bonuses than Willy) but should have ended when he was made more than whole with that post ELC deal
There are other stuff that could have been included including rocket security and his camps involvement that got left out.

I'm sure Marner being so sensitive and looking for praise/validation and being really sensitive to criticism has something to do with how hard his dad was on him growing up. I have a friend whos dad was the same way about hockey and other stuff and he is the exact same as Marner, very fragile and always looking for praise/validation and can't handle criticism of any kind. Paul Marner is such a loser.

Didn't his dad move to Vegas as well. Poor kid can't even escape him after moving to a different country and all the way west.

Do you ever think for yourself or just go by what Friedman tells you to think?

Who is he quoting that says he's still upset?
A touch of the hyperbole from the single most industrious poster for all things impression management Marner, lol.

AND, you were first in another Marner thread and elected to claim the "players" noted some affinity for Marner that should advise Leafs fans' apprehension, when it turned out, it wasn't the "players" who said that...It was you characterizing Woll to suit your preferences.

Friedman's reputation for integrity are a standard I'm sure you look UP to in admiration, most of the time. We understand the dilemma that selective objectivity poses when his acumen is turned on Marner (and by appropriation...lol).

And if you wait long enough, either he, or a friend of his, or friend of a friend of his, WILL most certainly chime in, albeit indirectly. Can't miss him.

I did.

Seemed like a half hearted ovation haha.
That's just Leafs fans in general. They're almost always terrible with cheering and getting loud for their team or celebrating a player or some other special occasion. I can't remember the last time Leafs fans got really loud and cheering hard to welcome back a former player. They just suck at getting loud unlike the fans of so many other teams in the league.

I should look up sundin’s return see what it was like

Also from a psychological standpoint I think Mitch’s issues stem directly from his father’s behaviour as a father.

Jesus f***ing Christ.

This is absolutely deranged.

Please, please, explain to the world just what Paul Marner is like as a father.

How does he discipline the kids, what was he like when it came to waking up early, going to bed on time, finishing homework.

Did the guy drive the kids to the dentist?

Did he leave all the late-night trips to the pharmacy for children's Advil and Tylenol, to the mother?

The internet really is a disgusting cesspool where shitty people have this false sense of anonymity and get to say the stupidest, often fantastical shit that comes through their pigeon brains.

The most interesting part of the article is Matthews would not have re-signed if the train fell off the tracks. This adds some validity to the article Kyper put out last weekend about Matthews wanting to move on if the Leafs continue to go downhill.

Bye then. I want guys who want to be Leafs and if he is checked out, I appreciate him saying so and letting us collect assets instead of going through the motions like Mitch and leaving us with nothing

Actually I’m not the first to say this and not the last. I’ve seen videos of him yelling at his young son at the rink like he’s running a boot camp.

I will find it and anyone that has been around toxic parents can immediately see those traits.

My post is bang on. You just can’t see the truth

Here you go genius. Now this is him knowing there are cameras rolling. What’s he doing when he’s not being filmed?

I am glad to see you created an account here Paul

Surely you have better things to do now that you’re in Vegas

Why ask me?

You know all about the guy's inner life.

Probably a good time to remind everyone that Nylander didn't get his schedule B bonuses either.
A 4th overall - especially in one of the strongest drafts ever - not getting it is a lot more rare than an 8th overall not getting it. And I think it was more that Lou lied to him telling him that it was a strict team policy only to abandon it a year later when Matthews came along.

Lou was hired 5 days before he signed his ELC. You really think that was all Lou?

Did you even read the article?

Yes. It was one of Lou's petty rules. He did it in New Jersey too. But after bullying Marner out of it, he gave it to Matthews. Everybody here would be upset if their employer did that. Especially when the disrespect didn't stop there.

Why'd you leave out the did you read the article part?

Guessing you havent.

Article suggest it might not have been a Lou thing and the Leafs were planning on not giving them anyways to not impact their cap going forward.

Yes I read the article. It says it's disputed, but also that Lou wouldn't allow them. It was a Lou thing, so I have no reason to think it wasn't a Lou thing here, but quite frankly, it doesn't matter. It was stupid to give it to one franchise-level prospect and not the other, and everybody here would be upset if it happened to them.

Matthews was a 1st overall pick. You don't think he should have got the A bonuses just based on that alone?
