This is the 12th time Edmonton had a 2-0 lead in the 1st period over the last 31 games counting playoffs. They've only won 1 of the previous 11 games when they didn't get a 3rd goal in the period. What will it be tonight? I suspect the powerplay to start could decide the game.

The positive is that lone victory was one of only two of those games where the other team didn't score as well in the first.

The negative, both of those games, they ultimately gave up the lead at some point (Game 1 and 2 vs. LA in playoffs last year).

It's almost like if the team played a tighter game when leading, they might win some more (as wel as having a better goalie)

Skinner gives no confidence to me. Lets see what happens IF Washington musters anything. Doesn't seem like they tested Skinner once that period?
