Any questions who the Leafs starting goalie and MVP is?

It’s his until it’s not his but he’s got starting goalie locked down as tight as he’s got his goal line locked down.

Happy for Tavares and that 3rd line was buzzing.

Robertson is frigging fearless.

God I miss Holl…… said no one ever.

Good game by the boys. DET pressured them and forced turnovers but they didn’t make the next mistake. When they needed him Stolie came through. It’s good to finally have a goalie. Hopefully Woll can continue our momentum tomorrow.

Thought the third line was good tonight. One of Holmbergs better games. He looks better at center than wing. Still more to be desired there, but maybe he figures things out and improves over the course of the season. Hopefully the line starts getting rewarded.

Defense was pretty solid. Timmins continues to improve and make good plays back there.

How the hell didn't have less PPs again? What type of game does it need to be and what scoreline for us to have more PPs than the opponent?

We're currently 31st in the league in net penalties with only the shitty Sharks behind us.

A very scruffy, loose game from both teams. The refs didn't help any by calling some very loose stuff in the first two periods and then nothing in the third.

*Stolarz with another fine game, while I wouldn't suggest searching for the puck in the crease during a scramble with your bare hand, his small shrug after the whistle and his laugh with Woll at the bench was hilarious. I like this guy.
*I'm not sure you can take Timmins out. His breakout passes really help this team.
*Rielly and OEL are playing well together, and the Tanev/McCabe pairing is hard to argue against. I'd give the D an overall B+/A rating tonight.
*Patches and Willy 5v5 were invisible to me tonight. JT had some good plays, but the puck was jumping over his stick a lot. I thought they played too much in their own zone. Hemmed in.
*Domi's line was ineffective as well. Defensively, a bit better than JT's, but not threatening imo.
*Holmberg's line was, gasp, our best tonight, largely due to Robertson. His best game this year. I really would love to see him play with some more talent. He's defense is so much better than during Keefe's time as coach.
*Kamph's efforts were noticeable, Lorentz was ok, but my goodness Reaves is an anchor.
*PP :partytime:

Tee up the Habs. Let's go!

Gotta eat up some crow, Connor Timmins, might be something there, he's tightened the screws on his defensive game nicely.

Holl with not one but two giveaways in the 3rd, they didn't lead to anything but they easily could have and chances are at some point this year it will.

Willy had a quiet game but he's earned a night off, especially with Mitch and JT carrying the water.

Nicky Bobby had a great game, that goal should have counted (there was penetration but Talbot was in no way stopped from making that save), but he's been fine this year, just unlucky. Enough to earn him a spot? With someone at least.

Mo started the year rough but has been studly pretty much since the b2b losses to CBJ & STL.

Back to back games with memey empty netters for us.

Beat Montréal and I don't care if they shit the bed against Ottawa.

We are 1/6 through the season, US Thanksgiving is in two weeks and I again bequeef you, the Atlantic is 1. Florida, 2. Toronto, 3. Tampa and 4. Boston.

As decent as this team has been of late, Stolarz has been exceptional and that's helping quite a bit.

Ice looked to be terrible tonight, which made for a very disjointed game, so hard to be too critical of the defensive lapses tonight.

Took care of business against a mediocre Detroit team. Onward to Montreal.

Stolarz once again was there when we messed up. Without him, we probably lose this game. I think Detroit had more high danger chances. Oh, and who picks a puck up with his bare hand in the middle of razor sharp blades? Amazing.

Stolarz is gonna be the secret weapon in the playoffs. When this guy's on he is air tight, his positioning just makes everything less stressful.

He seems like he might have that mojo that could really get into shooters heads, something I never thought any of the previous two decades worth of goalies could do for us. This is starting to go from “he’s just hot” to “this is a trend”. Seems at very worst — hes just solid, which is still a nice leap from having Emo and Sybil in the nets the last 3 or 4 years.
