I thought they played a solid game early but rolled a couple elite chances through the crease and it's a different game. Team shooting troubles continue and while Allen was good he was giving up rebounds. Not enough fight in the blue paint. I didn't think Bouchard had a good game and that's a problem because this team is lacking transition d support.

This team's PK is an absolute disaster. It was a big risk coming into this season with the PK personnel turnover and highly volatile goaltending. Gasoline on a burning fire taking a stupid too many men on the ice penalty in a tight game and a horrible PK.

A bizarre scheduling situation didn't help. But ultimately Oil couldn't score and this game slipped away.

You have to laugh at the Irony that this team can't score a goal for the life of them.

This team shoots muffins. Someone make a gif :P

Can have every forward with the exception of Draisitl in a hi lite real this year with their best scoring chance and replace the puck with a muffin.

I dub them the Edmonton muffin blasters or.. something like that haha.
What I wouldn’t give for a Ryan smyth slapper compared to the shots we put towards the net

Way too much complacency with guys like RNH.
Not debating RNH’s flaccid performance this far. But he seems to be a magnet for criticism while guys like Janmark and Henrique are completely awol. That line is getting decent minutes and they need to start making something happen or at minimum be a lot harder to play against. I did see Henrique out there fumbling his chances, but did anyone notice Janmark tonight? Not even close to good enough from these guys.

Out
Foegele 4 goals, McLeod 4 goals, Holloway 4 goals
In
Skinner 3 goals, Arvidsson 1, Podkolzin 0

Different teams can't really compare in that way, last year at game 13 it was

Foegele 3 goals, McLeod 0 goals, Holloway 0 goals

So they're actually up a goal, lol.

Obviously the offense as a whole is in a massive funk.

RNH isn;t the only guy. He is just an easy target. With Janmark guys, I seen them hitting, hustling, dragging that puck in the corners and getting some chances. I quite honestly see absolutely zilch from RNH. Like he does nothing good

You need your coach to coach these guys. Be more direct. Tell some of these softies that if you do not see the crashing the net or even laying a hit, you are scratched or moved down. Way too much complacency with guys like RNH.

Boston sat Pasta for the entire third period of their last game, time for a strong message to be sent from KK to Nuge. He has no accountability and gets gifted prime lineup spots with little effort and no results in return. Time for some tough love.

Didn’t get to watch but I noticed we outshot them 2 to 1. Score effects or did we outplay them by a good margin?

Shut out 3 times and scored 1 goal 4 times.

Not good enough.

This team doesn’t have it

We can blame goaltending or defence all day but when you score 1 goal or less in half your games there are other more pressing issues.

Similar shit as last season.

Last year at game 13: 35 goals
This year at game 13: 31 goals

Abnormally low shooting percentage.

At least we have double the wins (6) versus (3).

It's interesting how mediocre to start all three of the most recent Oilers teams to make the Cup Final were

1990 Oilers: 4-5-4 at game 13, would be below .500 at game 20

2006 Oilers: 6-6-1 at game 13

2024 Oilers: 3-9-1 at game 13

Current Oilers: 6-6-1 at game 13

I'm oddly not discouraged by this game. The Oilers carried a lot of the play, the bounces just didn't go their way. It happens, move on to the next one.
Yeah I really don't see how people can be down after this. This team, as they were last year, are near the top in almost every advanced metric and are just failing to convert. Their unsustainably low PP%, PK% and SH% will normalize. As long as the goaltending gets back to just average they have nothing to worry about.

To be .500 while missing McDavid for 3 games, and Kane the entire year so far, while having a 7.14% all situations shooting% (2nd last in the league) and a combine PP and PK% of 74.7%. Yeah I'm not too worried about it.

It's almost like the start of the season doesn't matter that much, and yet every year people overreact on here.

Same shit. Trying to skate the puck around when cycling instead of passing it around. It doesn't work, unless your goal is to get a ton of low quality shots.
The Oilers had a lot of high quality chances tonight. Not sure what game you were watching.

Edm has allowed a league leading 14 GA on the PK.

They 2nd in xGA with 4.84.

PK GSAx: -9.16

5v5 GSAx: +2.36

Goaltenders seem to be choosing when to make a save.
